An amazing experience - Gokyo to EBC

Had a challenging but amazing trek through the Gokyo Lakes region on the way to Everest Base Camp. Highly recommend the experience. My guide and Sherpa team made the experience smooth, organising all tea house bookings and happy to answer all my questions. Thanks Ganesh Khanal and Sonam Sherpa for a great trip

Great experience

Had a great experience with our guide Ganesh and our porter Sonam. Smooth experience from arrival into Kathmandu, battled through the weather during our trek and finished with an amazing farewell dinner. Highly recommend.

Experience of a lifetime

What began as a long‑held dream became a truly life‑changing experience thanks to Ace The Himalaya. Every detail was handled with care and professionalism, and at every step the experience met—and often exceeded—my expectations. My guide, Nimesh, was outstanding. His presence, sense of humor, knowledge, and humanity added immeasurable depth to the journey, and I genuinely feel I left Nepal with a new friend. This was not just a trek, but a transformational experience, and I’m deeply grateful to the entire Ace team for making it possible.

Incredible experience from start to finish

I have just returned from an incredible three week adventure in the Everest region with Ace the Himalaya and couldn’t recommend them more highly. As a child, I dreamt of one day hiking to Everest Base Camp. Last year, I made the decision to finally book a date and travel solo from the UK to Kathmandu to make my dream a reality. I had already decided to extend my trip and head to Base Camp via Gokyo and the Cho La pass. I was incredibly nervous about crossing Cho La but I didn’t need to worry. Nimesh, who was my guide, was an incredible support and such a laugh to travel with. His sense of humour and incredible and there was never a dull day! Although our connection started with Nimesh as my guide, it ended with a great friendship and a fondness that I will never forget. Nimesh’s knowledge of the Everest region was incredible and I couldn’t have asked for a better guide. I am already planning a return trip with another trek and wouldn’t hesitate to specifically request him as a guide again. The logistics on the trip with Ace were dealt with seamlessly. I was collected from the airport as agreed, despite delayed flights and missed connections. The pre trek meeting was informative and a great opportunity to meet the others in my group. The hotel accommodation in Thamel organised as part of my trek was fantastic! Having Nimesh organise everything - accommodation, food, drinks, snacks, etc - during the trek meant I didn’t have to worry about anything. His connections with the teahouse owners meant that we really were looked after during our stays. The post trek meal was a wonderful touch and a lovely way to celebrate our achievement after the post trek meeting. Again, I had complications with my flight back to the UK and Ace worked with me to get me to the airport earlier than originally planned to ensure I was able to get home. All in all, I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Ace the Himalaya again and want to again thank Nimesh for helping me create a life long memory.

Fantastic trek in the Everest region

I recently did this trek with my son and it has been great. ACE proved to be a very reliable agency and the organisation of the trip was excellent. Our guide, Kishor, aka Chris, was fantastic. He was so much more than just a guide. He’s incredibly friendly, has a great sense of humor, and kept us laughing even when the hiking got tough. We had so much fun on the trail, which really made the long days fly by. Kishor really knows his stuff. He handled all the logistics (we had the best tea houses with the best food and rooms) and kept a close eye on us with the altitude and acclimatization. We felt 100% safe and looked after the entire time. He turned a challenging trek into a seamless, fun, and super rewarding adventure. Thanks for everything, Kishor!

Sunil for the win!! Best trip ever!!

Phenomenal trek, highly recommend. The trail itself is absolutely stunning and the scale of the scenery is breathtaking. The best part of my solo trek however, was my incredible guide; Sunil Neupune. He was incredibly well connected with hotel owners, other guides, and the culture in Kumbhu, making the trek feel authentic, comfortable, and personal. He matched the treks pace to my speed and made sure I achieved everything I wanted to and beyond. He was incredibly flexible and caring. I will definitely return to trek in Nepal and would not do so without Sunil as he made the journey so special.

EBC, Chola Pass, & Gokyo: Breathtaking Scenery

My trek to EBC, Chola Pass, and Gokyo was absolutely incredible. Our guide, Kishor, was incredibly assistive throughout the 17 days we were together, always communicative & willing to help in any capacity, all while maintaining a cheerful attitude 24/7 😊 Although the trek is physically demanding; the pace & itinerary of the hiking schedule was attuned to our group’s needs, thanks to Kishor’s willingness to accommodate each of our requests and daily health check-ups. As for the trek itself: the scenery absolutely was breathtaking, the food always delicious, the Nepali people gracious & kind, and the experience as a whole life-changing. I can’t wait to return for another trek with Kishor in the Himalayas 🏔️

A World-Class Trekking Experience with Ace the Himalaya

Ace the Himalaya delivered an exceptional experience for our Everest Base Camp trek via Gokyo and Cho La Pass, and I recommend them very highly. From the outset, the entire process was efficient, transparent, and well coordinated. Traveling from the US, we found their communication clear and helpful, and once we arrived in Nepal, every transition was handled smoothly and professionally. In a destination like Nepal, where one can encounter both truly outstanding operators and others that may not meet the same standard, Ace the Himalaya distinguished itself immediately. Throughout the journey, Ace the Himalaya and their staff, including Raj, conducted themselves with a level of professionalism that felt genuinely world-class. At every stage, they were dependable, organized, and consistently willing to go above and beyond to ensure that the experience was safe, smooth, and memorable. This trek was one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences I have had. The route through Gokyo, across Cho La Pass, and ultimately to Everest Base Camp was both demanding and unforgettable. The itinerary was thoughtfully designed, balancing the physical challenge with spectacular scenery and a pace that made the journey feel manageable and well structured. Our guide, Rajendra Neupane (“Raj”), was outstanding in every respect. He was highly knowledgeable, experienced, organized, and attentive throughout the trek. It was immediately clear that he knew the region intimately and approached his role with both professionalism and genuine care. Each evening, he took the time to prepare us for the following day by explaining the terrain, expected weather, timing, and pace. This daily briefing made a significant difference in helping us feel mentally prepared and physically confident. Raj was also consistently attentive to the practical and health-related aspects of the trek. He closely monitored hydration, food intake, pacing, and overall well-being, which was especially valuable at high altitude. His calm presence, judgment, and careful planning inspired a great deal of confidence throughout the journey. Beyond logistics, Raj enriched the experience by sharing his knowledge of the mountains, local culture, and surrounding villages. His passion for the Himalayas was evident and added real depth to the trek. One particularly memorable gesture was his arrangement of a birthday cake on my birthday, to Gorak Shep by helicopter, which was both thoughtful and extraordinary. It reflected the level of care and effort he brings to ensuring a meaningful experience for his trekkers. Our porters, Narayan and Gombu, were equally deserving of recognition. They were consistently kind, encouraging, and supportive, even while carrying demanding loads each day. Their positive attitude and quiet strength made a lasting impression on us. They contributed enormously not only to the smooth running of the trek, but also to the spirit of the experience itself. Ace the Himalaya also handled the essential details extremely well. Hydration, food, hot drinks, pacing, and day-to-day coordination were all managed with care and consistency. I especially appreciated not having to worry about safe drinking water during the trek, which was one less concern in an already demanding environment. Most importantly, we always felt we were in capable and responsible hands. Whether in route planning, adapting to circumstances on the trail, or ensuring the health and safety of the group, Raj and the broader Ace the Himalaya team demonstrated a high standard of professionalism and care throughout. My wife Geeth, our fellow trekker B, and I all had an outstanding experience, and much of that is due to the quality of this team. This was a remarkable journey and one I will always remember. I am deeply grateful to Raj, Narayan, Gombu, and the entire Ace the Himalaya team for making it possible. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone considering a trek in Nepal, and I would gladly travel with them again in the future.

Ace The Himalayas: Gokyo to EBC Trekk

What an amazing, once in a lifetime (hopefully there’s more) experience! I could not recommend Ace The Himalayas enough. They made coordinating from the US simple, from clear directions on what’s needed to a smooth transition upon arrival. Definitely recommend the Gokyo to EBC hike, the Cho La Pass and Kala Patthar made this trip unforgettable, especially if you are going clockwise! Also, big plus, I never EVER had to worry about water because Ace was on top of it, always making sure we were hydrated with their water filtration technology that only they have! If you need a guide, I couldn’t recommend Raj (Rajendra Neupane) enough! The man was a celebrity out there, had all the connections, and assembled the A team for us (Narayan and Gombu). No seriously, this man had a Birthday Cake delivered all the way to EBC via helicopter! And not to mention, he’s done this 200+ times, so his knowledge is extensive, even other hikers with other trekking companies would gather around to listen to what he had to say. He also prepared a Peanut Butter sandwich for himself and I before our 4 am hike so we could celebrate in front of Everest at sunrise! (PS, he’ll also make sure you get tons of photos and are well fed!) I’ll never forget our moments of enjoying hot mango/orange and honey ginger lemon (ginger lemon honey?), YakBucks, strenuous hikes, and downtime together. The hikes, the views, the memories was all thanks to this team and I would do it all over again when given the chance. Thanks Raj, Narayan, Gombu and the Ace Team! ❤️

Epic trek, exceptional guide, and unmatched care every step of the way

This was truly one of the most incredible experiences of my life, and I cannot recommend Ace the Himalaya enough. Our guide, Raj, was exceptional in every way—knowledgeable, detail-oriented, kind, and deeply caring. Cho La Pass was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, and I also had to navigate some unexpected health challenges early in the trek. The uphill sections became particularly difficult at times, but Raj was endlessly patient and supportive throughout. He never rushed me or made me feel like I was holding the group back, and always ensured I felt safe and capable. What stood out most was how thoughtfully he planned every single day. Each evening, he would walk us through what to expect next—terrain, timing, weather, and pacing—so we always felt prepared. He carefully timed our departures to stay ahead of weather changes and ensured we reached teahouses safely. He also consistently checked on hydration, food intake, and oxygen levels, which made a huge difference at high altitude. Beyond logistics, Raj made the experience richer by sharing insights about the mountains, villages, and local culture. His knowledge of the Himalayas is incredible, and his passion truly enhanced the journey. Our porters, Narayan and Gombu, were equally wonderful—kind, supportive, and always looking out for us. On tougher sections, they would even guide us on how to step to make the climb easier. Despite carrying our bags the entire time, they were always smiling and encouraging. Spending time with them and learning about their lives and culture was one of the most meaningful parts of the trip. The trek itself was breathtaking. Going from Gokyo through Cho La Pass to Everest Base Camp was definitely challenging, but the views were absolutely worth it. Every day felt surreal. The itinerary was very well designed, balancing challenge with some of the most stunning scenery I’ve ever seen. The food throughout the trek was simple, nutritious, and well-suited for the environment. We were guided on what to eat to stay energized, and hot drinks with meals made a big difference in the cold. What truly sets this team apart is their level of care and responsibility. Raj was extremely attentive—not just to the trek itself, but to overall well-being. He provided thoughtful guidance, helped us make informed decisions when plans needed flexibility, and even recommended medical care when needed. That level of awareness and support made a huge difference. Despite the challenges, I never felt alone or unsupported. The team made it possible for me to complete this journey and genuinely enjoy it. I’m incredibly grateful for this experience. It left me with a deep love for the mountains and a strong desire to come back again—and I wouldn’t do it with anyone else.
