An absolutely amazing experience

I have now booked a trip to Nepal through Accessible Adventure for the third time, and for the third time, the experience from A to Z was incredibly beautiful. We were picked up at the airport and taken to the beautiful hotel located centrally in Thamel. There, we were greeted by Hari and Himal. The two are excellent hosts, and I was very happy to see them again. The trek itself was indescribably beautiful; the mountains, the culture, the food, the nature... Of all the hikes I have had the privilege to do in Nepal, this one was almost the most beautiful. The Sagamartha National Park is an absolute paradise and, in my eyes, one of the most beautiful places in the world. Mixed with the spirituality that one encounters everywhere, it is a wonderful combination. Our guide Mahendra took incredible care of us, brought us to beautiful lodges, told us about the area, and had a smile on his face for two weeks straight. Our porter Namdu was also extremely friendly; we greatly enjoyed the company of both of them. The hospitality is truly extraordinary. Our return also went smoothly, and we were very pleased with the invitation to dinner with Hari. He knows the area very well, and when I come back to Nepal, I will definitely organize the trip again through Accessible Adventure. Thank you very much for the wonderful experience!

Stunning view

This is our best trek. It is very accessible if you are progressive (altitude) in your steps. Thank you Hari for the rich advice. The view at the top of Gokyo Ri is breathtaking. We highly recommend 🤩

Fantastic holiday

Thanks to the team of Accessible Adventure we spent three unforgettable weeks in Nepal. Our tour took us to Gokyo Lakes, Gokyo Ri, Cho La Pass, Everest Base Camp and Ama Dablam Base Camp. Even before our tour we were given detailed answers to all questions about Himal's procedures and equipment. The organization of the tour was perfect and even spontaneous changes of plans could be implemented without any problems. A thousand thanks also to our guide Mahendra for the support and his tireless efforts. Since he took care of everything, we could fully enjoy the trek. Accessible Adventure is a professional and trustworthy tour operator that we can recommend without restriction. We are already looking forward to the next tour with you.

Himalaya trek overlooking Mount Everest

It's my first trek around Everest! The view is already amazing! I was able to see Everest live for the first time 😊 This is also thanks to the trekking guides. They arranged everything from arrival at the airport in Kathmandu to departure! There are also plenty of accommodation hotels in Kathmandu. Leave all the arrangements for entering Sagarmata National Park and more! They will take care of all the arrangements for lodges and meals during the trek. I went alone, but without any inconvenience, it was a trek that allowed me to enjoy the Himalayan mountains!

Thank you so much for sharing such a wonderful and heartfelt message. We are truly honored that you entrusted your first Everest region trek to Accessible Adventure. Knowing that you were able to see Everest in person and fully enjoy the breathtaking Himalayan landscapes fills us with joy. We are delighted that from your arrival in Kathmandu to the end of your trek, everything—from permits to lodges and meals—was seamless, allowing you to focus entirely on the adventure. Experiencing the Himalayas alone can be daunting, but we are glad we could make it comfortable and unforgettable for you. We look forward to welcoming you back to Nepal for your next Himalayan journey, where even more memories await.

Gokyo Lake Trek - great trek in the Everest region

Me, my wife & our elder son (part of hike) did Gokyo Lake trek in May 2024. This is a bit shorter than EBC (92km instead of 103 km) but the views are much better. As probably many of you know, one cannot see Mt Everest from EBC, but you get a much better panoramic view from Gokyo. This is still a very challenging hike and if you plan to hike in 2025, you should start working out & training for it right now. Nepal takes its trekking very seriously so in the worst-case scenario helicopter rescue is available at many of the villages along the trails. Warm food, hardworking guides/porters make the treks very bearable and the villages along the trail have "tea houses" which means you have roof over your head & clean toilets as well. So, you don't have to worry about staying in tents - even at altitude of 4800m. Weather in May has been increasingly cloudy/rainy + a lot of smog. Visibility was poor during the hike except for the day we climbed Gokyo Ri peak (5300meters). I would recommend that you reconsider doing Gokyo hike instead of EBC and do it in the month of October (will be colder than May for sure). From Gokyo Ri one can see four 8000m+ peaks including Mt. Everest. In terms of duration, I agree that 10-12 days seems to be on the lower side. Acclimatization is part of the overall schedule, but everyone does struggle with lower oxygen levels above 3500m no matter what. Please keep 2-3 days of buffer time for extra rest/flight delays. Flights to/from Kathmandu to Lukla can get suspended all the time (sometimes for many days at a stretch) during May due to poor visibility. We ended up paying extra for helicopter ride but even for that we had to wait at Kathmandu airport for more than half a day because visibility was poor even for helicopters. Our guide Shiva is a fantastic guide. He is knowledgeable, encouraging & resourceful. He arranged good hotels for us and also took good care of us in terms of food preferences and other needs. I would highly recommend him & accessible adventures to anyone planning to do a hike in Nepal.

Thank you for sharing such a detailed review of your Gokyo Lake trek experience in May 2024! It’s great to hear that you, your wife, and your son enjoyed the trek and found the views from Gokyo to be even more panoramic than Everest Base Camp. The comparison between the two routes is helpful for anyone considering which trek to choose, especially highlighting the advantage of seeing Mt. Everest and three other 8000m+ peaks from Gokyo Ri. Your insights on the importance of preparation, especially for the altitude, and the unpredictable weather conditions in May will certainly help future trekkers plan better. The advice about potentially opting for an October trek to avoid poor visibility, even though it’s colder, is valuable for those seeking clearer skies. It’s wonderful to hear about your positive experience with your guide Shiva and the team at Accessible Adventures. Having a knowledgeable and caring guide makes all the difference, and it sounds like Shiva went above and beyond to ensure your trek was as comfortable as possible. Your feedback about the helicopter rescue options, tea houses, and the challenges of flight delays between Kathmandu and Lukla provide important practical tips for anyone planning a trek in Nepal. Overall, your review will be incredibly helpful to anyone planning their adventure, and it sounds like Gokyo Lake is an unforgettable experience. Thank you again for the thoughtful review!

Outstanding Trekking Tour with perfect organization

RenjoLa-Pass, Gokyo Lakes, ChoLa-Pass and Everest Base Camp. This individual Tour organized by Accessible Adevnture was done by me and my both grown up daughters from 07.-22.April 2022. Hari Kunar Shresta patiently answering thousends of question in advance. He took care of us with the airport pickup and during our hotel stay, organized a helicopter flight in advance to avoid any delays in our itenary, which finally was a great idea as next 3 days all plane flights were cancelled. Our guide Shiva Shresta, gave a lot of explanations to mountains, nature and culture. Always good humored, he and his both buddies brought us thru the all ups and downs during this Trek. It was an outstanding, breath taking experience and we are so thankful to find new friends with the complete Team of Accessible Adventures. If we ever come back to Nepal for a Trek there is no doubt we will meet again to summit a Peak, maybe Mt.Schwuppdiwupp :-) Thank you very much to the complete Team. Martin R.
