Una vez que lo hayamos recogido de la ubicación elegida alrededor de las 7:00 am, lo trasladamos al TranzAlpine para uno de los viajes en tren más pintorescos del mundo. Disfruta de impresionantes vistas alpinas desde ventanas panorámicas o el carruaje al aire libre. Su guía lo encontrará en la estación Arthur's Pass para comenzar su recorrido por la montaña.
Mientras disfruta del viaje en tren, su guía viaja hacia adelante para reunirse con usted directamente en la plataforma en Arthur’s Pass Station. Desde allí, nos dirigiremos al mirador del Viaducto de Otira para disfrutar de vistas espectaculares, incluidas las vibrantes flores rojas de Rata durante el verano. ¡No te pierdas de vista al descarado Kea, el curioso loro alpino de Nueva Zelanda! Nuestra exploración de la montaña continúa con una visita a la impresionante cascada Avalanche Creek y varios otros lugares destacados dentro del Parque Nacional.

Nuestro viaje de regreso a Christchurch toma una ruta diferente por carretera, ofreciendo un paisaje al que las vías del tren no llegan. Nuestra primera parada es el sereno Lago Pearson. Este lago de alta montaña es famoso por sus reflejos vidriosos y especulares de las montañas circundantes, el sueño de un fotógrafo y un lugar perfecto para un tranquilo descanso por la tarde.
Parada en Flock Hill : Descubre el impresionante lugar de rodaje de «Narnia». Este sitio apareció en Disney's El león, la bruja y el armario como el campo de batalla principal, un escenario espectacular rodeado por la belleza escarpada del valle de Craigieburn.
Nuestro último punto culminante : Experimente el «Tesoro desde lejos» en Kura Tāwhiti. Para el iwi Ngāi Tahu, esta área tiene el estatus de Tōpuni, un manto simbólico de protección sobre sus valores sagrados. A medida que caminas por el sendero de fácil acceso, busca rastros de dibujos de carbón vegetal de 500 años de antigüedad y aprende cómo se formaron estas rocas hace 30 millones de años cuando Nueva Zelanda aún estaba bajo un mar interior poco profundo.
Dejando atrás las montañas, viajamos a través de las vastas llanuras de Canterbury. I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Our guide, whose name I didn’t get, did a wonderful job taking us around Arthur’s Pass and Castle Hill and providing information on the area. The bus was delayed picking up the group in Arthur’s Pass after the train ride, but the company did a great job with keeping the group updated as to when our guide would arrive. The hike up to the Devil’s Punchbowl Falls was worth it, and the loop at Castle Hill was great as well. I would recommend this tour.

Fantastic experience. The train trip was fabulous to see the southern alps up close. Exploring Arthur’s Pass was just devine and Castle Hill is exceptional.

It was a fabulous experience. The train was gorgeous and the views were unbeatable. Plus, the staff was incredibly kind. The driver was great with fun facts and lots of yummy snacks. Anuj was our tour guide and he was absolutely brilliant. Very informative and knowledgeable, made the whole experience very smooth and enjoyable. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this tour. I cant recommend it enough for the solo traveller. The other participants were lovely, the guide was fabulous, and the scenery was mind blowing. The many stops to take photographs and go for good walks were just the right amount.

We had a fantastic day. It was a great way to see the country side as well as explore the forest and see the waterfalls at Arthur's Pass. VJ was our tour guide and he was very knowledgeable. We started the day by taking the Alpine Train to Arthur's pass. Then VJ took us to beautiful scenic spot and showed us where filming took place for the Lion the witch and the wardrobe. He also shared NZ snacks with us. It was a wonderful way to spend a day in Christchurch.

I did enjoy our tour from Christchurch via TranzAlpine to Arthurs’ path and back to the city. Our tour guide are accommodating and providing good insights and explanation. He provides guidance or alternative activity for some who cant do a hike. We did a couple of small stops for scenic lookout when we are going back to the City. The tour was not rush and we are able to be back to the city earlier than expected Highly recommended tour!
