Brilliant day thank you Euan. The 3 distilleries were great, lunch in Doune perfect, Euan’s whiskey knowledge and conversation was a great addition bringing it all together
Hubby is a seasoned whisky devotee. I was not. (Note: past tense -- "was.") Maybe I'm still not a "devotee," exactly, but I have a much improved enjoyment of the spirit since our travels with Euan! What a delightful day! Despite seasonal challenges, we were able to see three lovely distilleries -- Tullibardine, Glenturret, and Deanston -- each of which provided us with unique and memorable experiences. Between stops, Euan was a delightful host and skilled driver. The car is comfortable, and we felt very safe and catered-to throughout the day. Thank you, Euan, for helping us make some great memories!
Euan was a wonderful host and a great driver! We thoroughly enjoyed our day, tasting whiskies at three distilleries -- Tuillibardine, Glenturret, and Deanston. Each was a unique experience, and we were delighted to visit them all. Highly recommend this for those who are devotees (like my husband) and those who just want to tag along (like me)! Thank you, Euan, for a wonderful day making great memories!
On the page where you book a whole bunch of distilleries are listed. It's clear that you will be going to 3 of the ones on the list, but guess what you don't have a say in which ones. We were forced to go to 3 chosen by the organiser, who promised us they are the best. Besides Lindores the distilleries we were taken to were defenitely not the "best". We paid a premium price as well and it was clear the organiser just booked the cheapest tasting at each of these distilleries. As a whisky fan I am thoroughly disappointed in this experience. What a waste of time and money. We actually ended up going to The Scotch Whisky Experience in Edinburgh after this "tour" and that was much better. I forgot to mention, the day before the tour the organiser reached out on whatsapp to ask us if we can change our dates and do our pre-booked tour the next day. Mind you we booked this tour almost a month in advance. There was no explanation given by him.
Not really worth the price. Nice guide, but Infos to share not too structured. Car was not too clean. Communication not good, pickup did not work. Choice of Locations should be on the ones who pay.
The 3 distilleries chosen Lindores Abbey, Deanston and Tullibardine were excellent choices as my husband and I are scotch lovers and try out variety of scotches available in the US. This is the first time we had the opportunity to taste Scotches from Lindores and Tulibardine for the first time and enjoyed the taste as well as the tour tremendously. The staff at the distilleries were outstanding in every aspect. We have to commend our driver and guide Billy. He was friendly, courteous and was quite knowledgeable not only on the subject of whiskies but in many other areas and we were able to have quite an interesting discussions on many topics during the drive. We are planning on returning next Spring (2025) for a 3 day scotch tour to Isles to taste Islay scotches and hope to have Billy be our guide. Thank you for organising this wonderful experience.
My son and I had the most wonderful day with Whiskywheels yesterday that will live long in our memories. We booked with Euan who came up with an excellent itinerary suited to us. We visited 3 distilleries: 2 tours with tasting (Lindores Abbey and Tullibardine) and one tasting experience (Deanston). Each experience was unique and complemented the others. The guides in each were just wonderful too, Deanston even gave us goodies to take home! Our driver Billy was punctual, helpful, informative and great to chat to. We were happy to have his company the whole day. This is not a cheap option, and Euan can be difficult to get hold of, but all in all we are delighted we chose him and enjoyed an experience we will remember for a long time. I've also never drunk so much in one day, a very happy fun experience. Thank you Euan and Billy.
We initially booked this tour and paid a deposit in 2020. This was the last leg of our two weeks biking tour in the highlands. In addition to the whiskey tour, MOST IMPORTANTLY. this was our transportation back from the Highlands to Edinburgh's airport then back to the US. The owner honored our deposit post COVID and agreed to re-Book the trip for May 2023. Once we paid him the final amount, back in January 2023, we stopped receiving any communication from him. We needed details about which distilleries we are visiting and again, wanted to confirm that we had a ride a bike to the airport. I called the US and UK numbers repeatedly, emailed over and over again. and received no response. We had to make contingency plans, because honestly, until the last minute, I had doubts they will actually show up. Finally, in the last 24 hours before our trip, and after one of our friends pretended that he is booking another tour, we received some information. The company contracted with a local driver who was actually very nice but is remotely connected with them and had no knowledge of whisky. Bottom line: If you are chill and want to book a last-minute whisky tour without it being an integral part of your trip, and you don't need a lot of information about the details of the tour or information about whisky, this company is perfect for you.
This review has been reported for fraudulent comments. Please find a response to your review below: 1. Communication - I have an email trail of at least 15 messages going back and forth discussing the tour. I also have a whatsapp conversation discussing the tour. 2. The return to the airport had been booked and paid for and confirmed. Was never an issue. 3. There may have been an old number being used by the customer as we switched providers earlier in the year. I am sorry if you couldn't reach us via phone. 4. Nobody connected with the party advised that they had booked another tour. 5. The tour started in the heart of whisky country in a very remote location with very little travel time between distilleries. 40 minutes maximum. Unfair comments regarding a hard working driver. For that location, the driver was suited perfectly. 6. The tour covered one of the oldest working single malt distilleries in the world with fabulous staff and one of best tasting rooms in Scotland. The tour also covered the newest distillery in Speyside, owned by a world famous luxury independent bottler with some of the brightest minds in the industry with unrivalled creativity and vision. Finally, while visiting the village of highest elevation in Scotland, you had the pleasure of participating in a tasting with a very successful independent bottler. This tasting provided a different perspective and fresh insight about whisky compared to the the two distilleries visited previously. The tour was as detailed and varied as any whisky tour over one day. I find the reviewer's comments are not a fair representation of what was provided.
Couldn’t be more pleased. We left the decision up to him which distilleries to visit and he did not disappoint. 3 lovey experiences and a wonderful lunch. If ever back in Scotland, I will be contacting WhiskyWheels again. What a wonderful day.
Our guide was very engaging, friendly and knowledgeable. He recommended distilleries that were magnificent.
