We spent the day exploring Nara with Mikano (Mike) who was incredibly knowledgeable and had great stories of the various sights we visited along with just general knowledge of Nara, but also Osaka etc as well. His showed us the sights of Nara with great depth of history which was fascinating, kept us away from the more wild natured deers and had a wonderful soba noodle dish at a quaint little place he chose for us for lunch.. he’s quick on his feet so you have to keep up. I would recommend Mike have a little microphone as he’s rather soft spoken and can be difficult to hear in crowded places.. overall would Mike and this tour for a good introduction into Nara
A flop. The guide has not appeared. No message nothing. No phone to contact in such a case. Very disappointing!! I demand an opinion from you!!!
Unfortunately, we were forced to interrupt our tour after the first 20 minutes of getting to know and talking to the guide. The guide spoke English poorly, speaking quickly, quietly, and mumbling, making it difficult for us to understand him. When we asked him to speak more clearly, loudly, and slowly, he became frustrated and told us that we should not have come to Japan.
Mike was an extremely kind and knowledgeable tour guide. He went above and beyond right from the start by meeting us at our hotel and navigating us to Nara via metro from Osaka. Upon arriving in Nara, he took us to all of the main attractions, the Old Town, and much more. By being with Mike, we were able to cover so much ground due to his experience that we otherwise wouldn't be able to on our own. He was highly accommodating considering we had an under 2 year old child and a stroller. We’d highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to have a complete day in Nara. Thank you Mike!
The guide picked us up from our hotel, and we walked to the local station to get o the main line station (she helped us buy tickets at the two stations). I think if you were staying in town for several days buying a pass might be a good idea, but for us single tickets each way was best. The journey took over an hour from our area of the center of town. We then walked to and around the very large park area through which are scatterd a number of temple complex structures. The are some genuinely old and interesting things to see on this tour. In much of Japan the "old" temples have been burnt so often that their foundation dates are misleading. Being 70+ the walking was a bit tiring, but the guide e able us to go at our pace. The whole park area is filled with small deer who see tame and beg for food. They are not in say way aggressive just tame. If you don't want to feed themed your hands in front of you, faward, palms out. We ate lunch at a noodle shop in the park. I found the trip and the guide delightful. The place was busy but for Japan, not crowded.
Imeko is a great guide . She is attentive , knowledgeable , cares about her clients, warm and easy to communicate with. She made sure that we had seen everything what the program promised . We would highly recommend her as a guide and a great person.
Nara was wonderful! Emiko our guide skillfully guided us through Nara park past hordes of hungry deer to show us the amazing art, architecture, and tressures of the shrines and temples. I can't reccommend it more highly!
My guide Makino (Mike) was very kind, generous, and spoke great English. Since he’s lived in the US, he was very familiar American culture. He arrived early and was waiting for me in the lobby with a sign with my name which made it very easy. He guided me very efficiently through the public transport and made sure I was comfortable and enjoying myself. We had a beautiful day in Nara with the deer and visiting the Buddhist and Shinto temples.
Iliana Thank again for taking time out of your busy flight schedule to come to Nara. If you have any opportunity, please come and visit historical scenic spots near City of Osaka, such as Kyoto, Himeji, and Kobe. Thank for reminding me of my active days in your city, The Magic City. Wish your safe flight , always. Thanks Masahisa
Our guide was very good. He was very kind and helpful, and spoke english well. Reviews should not have to be long.
Thank you for joining our tour. We are happy to get 5 stars and great review. We hope you have a lot of memories in Japan.
