With no sumo tournaments on this seemed like the next best thing to experience the sport. Probably a great tour for families with kids but personally, a power point presentation (with audience participation) from a very enthusiastic American guide just wasn’t what I was hoping for. Sumo display was interesting and the wrestlers were good sports. Guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Most people seemed to have a great time.
An amazing experience for friends and family
We weren’t quite sure what to expect from this experience, but we all had a great time. Both of our sons got in the ring to challenge the wrestlers. We came away with a great understanding of sumo wrestling as a sport, and has a reflection of their religion. A good was had by all!

I was really surprised at how much we enjoyed this experience. I was there with my wife and five kids ages 14 to 21. All of them thought it was a blast. There was some educational aspects to it which I really liked, but for the most part, it was watching these guys wrestle and train and then actually participating. When the two sumo wrestlers walked out, at first, we were a little disappointed because they were not huge, but these guys are tough! I’m 250 pounds and pretty athletic. One of the exercises was to try and push a sumo wrestler backwards. I got a decent head start and slammed into him and it was like hitting a brick wall! I can’t believe how strong they are! We walked away with a lot more respect for the sport and with some bumps and bruises from the wrestling :-). This was totally worth it, and I would highly recommend everybody taking the time out to participate in this experience. Worth every penny!
This was one of the best expériences we had in Osaka!!! It was very interesting to learn about the Sumo history and it's rules. The staff was super extra friendly and warm. Would definitely recommend to start the day.
