Te contaré la historia oficial, y la no tan oficial, sobre la creación de nuestro país, siempre basada en hechos reales, para que en este recorrido tengas el mayor conocimiento posible de nuestra historia e idiosincrasia. No te preocupes por el horario, me adaptaré a lo que sea necesario para que disfrutes plenamente tu visita a Montevideo. Les contaré, con muchos detalles, las pasiones de los uruguayos, especialmente cuando se trata de fútbol, comida y política. Haré todo lo posible para que termines la gira muy feliz y con una idea clara de cómo es Uruguay y cómo somos los uruguayos.

La Plaza de la Independencia es la plaza central y primordial de Montevideo, Uruguay. Situado en el corazón de la ciudad, ocupa el espacio histórico que alguna vez sirvió como entrada a la antigua ciudad fortificada de Montevideo. En su centro, la plaza alberga con orgullo el monumento en honor al general José Gervasio Artigas, una figura clave en la lucha por la independencia. Rodeando este emblemático monumento, se encuentra el edificio que alberga la Presidencia de la República, que sirve como lugar de trabajo del Presidente de Uruguay. La Plaza Independencia, por lo tanto, sirve como un centro histórico y simbólico, que encarna la esencia del pasado y presente de Montevideo.
La Plaza de la Constitución, también conocida como Plaza Matriz, adorna el centro histórico de la ciudad vieja de Montevideo. Una vez que fue la plaza central de la ciudad fortaleza de San Felipe y Santiago de Montevideo, fue testigo del momento crucial en que Uruguay declaró su independencia como nación. La Avenida 18 de Julio es la vía principal de Montevideo y muestra algunos de los edificios históricos más importantes de la ciudad.
El Palacio Legislativo sirve como edificio de congresos y eje central del Poder Legislativo de Uruguay. Construido entre 1908 y 1925 en Montevideo, el edificio fue inaugurado el 25 de agosto de 1925, conmemorando el centenario de la Declaración de Independencia.
El parque ofrece un entorno ideal para paseos tranquilos, caminatas o ejercicio, lo que permite a los visitantes disfrutar del aire refrescante en el entorno boscoso. Contiguo al Estadio Centenario se encuentra el monumento La Carreta, creación del escultor José Belloni.
Parque Rodó es un tranquilo distrito residencial que rodea la extensión verde del mismo nombre, con un lago para navegar y atracciones clásicas de parques de diversiones. Dentro del parque, el Museo Nacional de Artes Visuales exhibe pinturas uruguayas del siglo XX y un encantador jardín de esculturas.
Situada dentro del barrio de Pocitos, esta playa se encuentra a orillas del Río de la Plata. Tómate un momento para explorar el Letrero de Montevideo, tomar fotografías y saborear las vistas panorámicas de uno de los barrios más pintorescos de la ciudad.

Dario is simply one of the single best tour guides I have ever booked with and I've been to about 50 countries and have done multiple tours in all of them. Dario has intimate knowledge of Montevideo and Uruguay that is obvious from not only the information he shares but also from the people he knows that you might meet during the tours. Montevideo is a small, intimate city, but Dario makes you feel like family. That's another level. If 11 out of 10 stars were possible, I'd give him a 12.
We had a great time with Dario! He was on time waiting for us when we disembarked the ship and his car was nearby. He offered to fetch the car, but we were happy to walk. Unfortunately the air con was broken, but he had plenty of cold water and with the windows open it was fine. We walked through all 3 squares and he told us about the history of Uruguay and the important buildings/statues. He knew all the best places to take photos from to get the best shots! We even got to see a wedding!! We drove to the football stadium where the first World Cup was held and then the Congress and on to the beach. We stopped at a little park where there is an art exhibition every month and finally went into the covered market opposite the port to see the barbecues, local dancers and drummers and to taste a local drink. It was a very interesting, packed trip and we thoroughly enjoyed Dariio's company. Thank you 😊

Dario was incredible. My wife and I are fortunate to have taken day tours with Viator and/or the other big company in 15 cities across 12 countries, and Dario was the best. Friendly, knowledgeable, funny, and an all around expert on the true history of Montevideo. He picked us up on time, paid extra care to my 2 year old and wife because it was 95 degrees, so he brought lots of water bottles on ice. He knew so much history, both told, and untold, and extended the tour without asking. Dario knew how to navigate the city, frequently ran into people around town that he knew, further solidifying that he is an expert in his field, and he gave us a BOOK about Uruguay, for free. That was incredible. No tour guides do that. Montevideo is a great city, underrated in my opinion, and we would not have experienced the true city without him. We loved every minute, and it was 95 degrees! That says a lot about Dario and his ability to make a tour wonderful. I would highly recommend using Dario, whether with just friends, family, or even when traveling with a 2 year old all the way from California, like we were. I happened to lose my phone at the hotel hours after the tour, and I asked him to resend me photos via Whats App because I lost them all. Dario offered to drive to the hotel and look for the phone. A truly kind man, with great knowledge, of a city that deserves a visit from any traveler who values history, and wants to see the cooler parts of South America. He is an exceptional guide, friendly, friendly, always well disposed, has incredible knowledge of the traditional places to visit, and also takes you to restaurants, bars, museums and fantastic places, which make you feel like a local. He is very generous with his time, as he has no problems in extending the tour and staying several hours after the scheduled end of the tour, and everything he does with a smile, it is really like you arrive in Montevideo and you are greeted by an old friend. We were 4 friends doing a Trip to Uruguay last March, and thanks to Dario we enjoy our stay in the country for 7 days...
