¡El Mercado del Puerto es delicioso! Este es un gran mercado del siglo XIX lleno de bulliciosos restobares especializados en carnes. Este lugar es opcional si los viajeros están interesados en una parrillada uruguaya clásica.
La Plaza Zabala, que lleva el nombre del fundador de Montevideo, cuenta con jardines diseñados por el arquitecto paisajista francés Édouard André. Los jardines están rodeados por vallas de hierro y puertas. La Plaza está rodeada por la calle Anillo Durango, llamada así por el distrito de la localidad donde nació Zabala. En el lado sur de la plaza se encuentra el Palacio Taranco, sede del Museo de Artes Decorativas.
Podemos explorar esta parte a pie. La Plaza de la Constitución, también conocida como Plaza Matriz (Catedral), se encuentra en Montevideo, Uruguay, en el corazón del barrio histórico de la Ciudad Vieja. Originalmente, sirvió como Plaza Mayor de la Ciudad Fortaleza de San Felipe y Santiago de Montevideo, y fue el único espacio público abierto diseñado específicamente para ese fin.
Plaza Independencia es la plaza más importante de Montevideo, Uruguay. Ubicado en el centro de la ciudad, ocupa el espacio que alguna vez ocupó la Ciudadela de Montevideo. En su centro se levanta el monumento y mausoleo del general José Gervasio Artigas. Alrededor de la plaza se encuentran varios edificios históricos, incluido el emblemático Palacio Salvo, un impresionante ejemplo de arquitectura ecléctica y uno de los edificios más altos de América del Sur cuando se completó en 1928. La arquitectura y los monumentos de la plaza capturan el rico patrimonio cultural de Montevideo.
La Rambla de Montevideo es una larga avenida de veinticuatro kilómetros de longitud que bordea la costa del Río de la Plata en Montevideo, capital de Uruguay.
El Palacio Legislativo es la sede del Poder Legislativo de Uruguay. Allí funciona la Asamblea General, que está compuesta por dos cámaras que sesionan separadas o en conjunto según las circunstancias: la Cámara de Diputados y la Cámara de Senadores. Una presencia imponente en la ciudad. No te la puedes perder La entrada al Palacio Legislativo cuesta 3 dólares.
Luego de pasar por el Parque Batlle visitaremos el Estadio Centenario, un imperdible en Montevideo. Uruguay fue el primer campeón del mundo y el Estadio Centenario fue sede de las filas. También los viajeros pueden solicitar cualquier otro barrio.
Prado es un tranquilo y exclusivo barrio residencial conocido por el extenso parque del mismo nombre, donde los visitantes pasean entre plantas autóctonas y exóticas en el jardín botánico y rosas plantadas alrededor de arcos de piedra en El Rosedal. Hay más jardines en el museo de Blanes, un chalet del siglo XIX que ahora es un museo de arte uruguayo. Las Carmelitas es una iglesia muy fotografiada, construida en la década de 1920 además del jardín japonés.
Se pueden agregar diferentes lugares (como Carrasto, la crema de Montevideo9 y otras características de acuerdo a sus intereses como Bodega, tours de viñedo, tours de Estancia y fotografía profesional para guardar esta gran experiencia.
La Fortaleza General Artigas o Fortaleza del Cerro de Montevideo es una antigua fortificación de Uruguay construida por órdenes del Gobernador Francisco Javier de Elío en 1808. Es considerada uno de los principales símbolos del país y de la capital.

Had an incredible tour with Favio, who brought Montevideo to life in the most engaging way. He guided us through the city’s beautiful neighborhoods and along the scenic waterfront promenade, sharing fascinating history and pointing out all the key landmarks—including the local markets, congress, and the mausoleum of national hero José Artigas. This was a brilliant guided tour with Paola and driver Alviro. Message on the morning about where to meet, several stops where we got out and walked around with useful information about the area. She coped well with my husband’s wish for shopping and could help with questions to the stall holders. We got to see annual ceremony changing guard. Views from top of City Hall were incredible. Got to see so many ch of old and new part. Ate at indoor market and tried local food which we would not have done by ourselves Highly recommend this tour

We had a perfect day in Montevideo with a local. This tour is a highlight of our trip and honestly one of the best we have ever had! Fabio is very knowledgeable about history and sights but more impressive is his ability to share the warmth of the people. He even went up to perfect strangers sitting on a bench who were drinking mate and asked them to share what the beverage means to them. We will be back soon!

Sergio and Ramon showed us their Montevideo! From the view of the city from the top (city hall) to the many ‘neighborhoods’ that make up the city. We were thoroughly entertained, experienced a fabulous lunch at Tannat and enjoyed our stroll back to the port. Thanks guys!

Private tour guide gave a customized trip around the city showcasing all the history and particular insights from having actually lived there his whole life.
