Byambaa (aka Brian) was excellent. His deep knowledge of the Tibetan Buddhist faith gave us an insight into the philosohy that allowed us to apreciate the temples more than we expected. He was attentive to all our needs and limitations which made for a very enjoyable tour. If we ever have the proviledge of returning to UBN, we will seek him out.
I had agreat city tour with Byambasuren. He picked me up from my hotel in a clean and spacious SUV and allowed me to personalize the tour to my preferences. Since I booked at the last minute, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to see, so I relied on Byambasuren’s recommendations. His extensive knowledge of the city and country greatly enhanced the experience. I visited several beautiful temples and statues, each accompanied by detailed explanations of their historical significance and current relevance. I also learned about the modern practices of those who consult with monks on various issues. For lunch, we dined at Modern Nomads Mongolian Restaurant, which offered a vast selection of food and drink. The ambiance, along with the art and decor, made for a delightful dining experience. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and the engaging conversation with Byambasuren. After lunch, we headed to the Chinggis Khaan Museum, where I spent several hours exploring the art and authentic artifacts on display. The tour can be tailored to your interests, so when I expressed a desire to shop for souvenirs, Byambasuren recommended the State Department Store over the Black Market, stating it had a better selection of quality items. I spent some time browsing the vast array of authentic souvenirs. Having arrived late the night before, I realized I wouldn’t be able to finish the full day-long tour. The option to choose where to visit and when to conclude the tour was incredibly convenient. Even though I had time left, I decided to end the day earlier than planned due to my exhaustion from the late flight, and Byambasuren was completely supportive of that choice. Overall, Byambasuren is an excellent communicator and driver, making the day enjoyable. He offers a variety of other tours as well. After experiencing the city tour with him, I would certainly consider booking additional tours in the future. I highly recommend his services if you’re unsure about which tours to choose for an authentic experience.
Excellent experience from prompt pick up to making sure I got back at my requested end time (4:30 - much earlier than the tour should normally finish) - no mean feat given the very heavy traffic in the city that can be gridlock and frustrating. The Buddhist center with four temples was first stop, I spent about 1.5hr there with Byamba giving me a guided tour and lots of information, and I saw/heard the monks chanting. Then a couple of hours self-guided of the Ghengis Khan museum (scan the QR codes for somewhat useful info on exhibits in English). I skipped lunch as I was short on time for the day and wasn't hungry after a quick coffee at the Ghengis museum. The Winter Palace of the last King and Queen was fascinating and I got another guided history tour from Byamba (plus exhibits have labels in English). Since I had to end early, we zipped to the Zaisan Memorial where it's a short climb up for a view of the city, and I didn't do the cultural show so can't comment on that. Very comfortable ride, easy conversation, and it really was a great day. You pay entrance fee for Ghengis museum - they take Visa - but the Winter Palace doesn't take Visa, so you need Mongolian cash for that (it was 18 000).
The tour was very interesting and everything was perfect. I enjoyed a lot the day around the city. If you want to discover the attractions of UB, I suggest you to book this tour!
My wife and I went to Ulaanbaatar in February to get away from the crowds during high season and it was still amazing and beautiful to enjoy. Brian took us everywhere we wanted to go and see without question and hesitation. We had a wonderful time!
We had an outstanding full day tour of the highlights of Ulaanbaatar with our driver / guide Byambaa on our first day in Mongolia. He timely picked us up at our hotel and took us to all of the main attractions in the city as well as a few additional sites that we wanted to see. He was great at explaining the history and culture and answering our questions. He was happy to spend as much time as we wanted at any location and to customize the itinerary to our wishes. He was personable and friendly and fun to spend the day with. We highly recommend this tour for a terrific day in Ulaanbaatar!
We had a great day in Ulaanbaatar! The driver, Brian, was very kind and kind and took me to my destination on time. This is a great tour that will allow you to efficiently explore the fascinating sights of Ulaanbaatar in one day. I highly recommend it when you travel in Mongolia!
Although my flight arrived late and we had to skip the Chinggis Khaan Museum and Narantuul Market, the tour was still a fantastic cultural experience. Highlights included the serene Gandantegchinlen Monastery, the historic Bogd Khaan Palace, and panoramic views from Zaisan Hill. The Tumen Ekh Ensemble show was a beautiful glimpse into traditional Mongolian arts. Our guide was incredibly accommodating—he even took me souvenir shopping in the city, outside the planned itinerary. A thoughtful, flexible tour that made the most of limited time. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Ulaanbaatar!
Was a really great way to get around a very easy to do so. Loved the driver and would recommend this everyone.
Brian is a great driver and guide. We told them where we wanted to go, and we organized the route properly so they could enjoy Ulaanbaatar to the fullest extent of their day. They had perfect time management, and they managed to get me to the theater in time for the Mongolian art performances. He is not only an excellent guide, but also a very kind and attentive person. I think it is a perfect guide for Japanese people who don’t say things themselves, pay attention to things and make sure they work well. His driving skills are so high that he can move perfectly quickly through the complex roads of Ulaanbaatar, where other drivers get lost and take too long. I highly recommend it.
