Descripción
El festival de Naadam es la celebración nacional más grande pero más jubilosa para los mongoles. Se celebra anualmente entre el 11 y el 12 de julio. Originalmente organizado desde los tiempos del Imperio Huno/Hunnu, Naadam era una especie de concurso para evaluar el poder y las habilidades militares de los guerreros mongoles. El Festival consta de tres juegos principales denominados “Tres Deportes Masculinos” como la lucha libre tradicional, las carreras de caballos y el tiro con arco. La ceremonia de apertura del festival siempre está asociada con un colorido espectáculo cultural seguido de la primera ronda del torneo de lucha libre. En los pasillos del Estadio Central, tanto el tiro con arco y el cuarto juego de Naadam - tiro al hueso del tobillo seguramente captará su interés. Cientos de pastores con sus caballos de carreras se apresurarán desde varias partes del país para participar en la carrera más grande. Las carreras tendrán lugar en las llanuras con distancias variables de hasta 15 - 20 millas en 6 categorías de edad diferentes. The day before the tour, I visited the Mongolian Vision Tours office, which had just been renovated and was clean and likable. It also seems to have a hostel, so I wanted to stay here next time. The staff were friendly and worked very well during the tour. The schedule of the two-day tour itself was very well organized and I fully enjoyed Nadam.

I am very happy to attend the Naadam Festival. It IS the crown jewel event in all of Mongolia. It was very hard to secure tickets for foreigners as it requires a Mongolian phone number and the tickets are very limited. So I'm glad I found the tour over Viator to have this opportunity. I definitely had the sticker shock when I saw the price but when you calculate it out, its about $30-$40 more. But that gets you convenience, where transport was provided and a dedicated Mongolian guide. A guide is essential to get you through the rat maze of people, position you to the best spots and provide context of what you are looking at in ENGLISH. If you dont speak Mongolian you will be wasting a lot of time just getting to the event and getting lost. They just change itineraries and close of roads on a whim. Having an experienced guide was absolutely helpful. so that extra dollars is well worth it!
