Operado por Senor Travel Bug, el itinerario de este tour es un clásico de la región Cancún y Riviera Maya, pero con dos diferencias principales. Viajarás en un Classic VW Beetle pintado como un coche de carreras (aunque puedes elegir un coche más 'estándar' si lo prefieres), y tu guía, un ex fotógrafo profesional, tomará fotos y videos durante todo el día, todos los cuales se compartirán contigo de forma gratuita para el día siguiente. No debes salir de esta región de México sin visitar Chichén Itzá, la única maravilla moderna del mundo en América del Norte. Después de una visita guiada por las ruinas, un refrescante chapuzón en un cenote siempre resulta muy bienvenido y algo que solo se puede experimentar en esta región. La última parada es en Valladolid, donde se pasean las calles y la plaza principal, tal vez refrescarse con una bebida fría junto a la catedral para finalizar el recorrido antes del regreso a Cancún. Itinerario
El primer lugar que se visita es Chichén Itzá, Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO desde los años 80 y votado como Maravilla del Mundo moderno en 2007. Se considera el más importante de los sitios mayas principalmente porque tiene edificios de las dos eras mayas y, por lo tanto, diferentes estilos de arquitectura que reflejan los cambios políticos, de creencias y de cultura desde el año 435 d. C. hasta la conquista española en el siglo XVI, pero también por su importancia religiosa para los mayas como lugar de peregrinación. A diferencia de la mayoría de las visitas guiadas, Señor Travel Bug te llevará a las partes más antiguas y nuevas de Chichén Itzá y te explicará su relevancia. Conduciremos durante aproximadamente 2 h 45 min para llegar a Chichén Itzá, dependiendo del lugar de recogida.
Nuestra segunda parada será normalmente en uno o dos cenotes, y se elegirá después de hablar con el visitante sobre sus preferencias, por ejemplo, saltar desde un acantilado, simplemente flotar, ver estructuras de cuevas, etc., y podría ser antes o después del almuerzo, dependiendo del hambre y del tiempo que se haya pasado en Chichén Itzá (un beneficio de un tour privado). Los visitantes pueden luego nadar, saltar o simplemente relajarse en las frescas aguas de los cenotes que son algo único en esta región del mundo. Conducimos durante 30 a 45 minutos después de Chichén Itzá para llegar a este lugar (dependiendo del cenote seleccionado que refleje el estilo de cada individuo o grupo (es decir, cenote de estilo tranquilo o aventurero).
Antes o después del cenote haremos una parada para comer, siempre según las preferencias de los visitantes. La comida no está incluida, pero el guía hará recomendaciones basadas en su experiencia y conocimiento que reflejen los gustos y el presupuesto de los visitantes. Puede tratarse de comida callejera (de confianza), un restaurante local donde se puede visitar la cocina y ver cómo se hacen las tortillas, un restaurante maya de alta gama o incluso una pizzería. Conduciremos durante 30-45 minutos para llegar a la hora del almuerzo, dependiendo del cenote seleccionado para su recorrido privado y de la elección del restaurante que refleje el gusto y el apetito de los viajeros.
La última parada de tu tour clásico mexicano en un auto clásico mexicano (o alternativa si lo prefieres) es en Valladolid, un pueblo mágico mexicano. Valladolid es la ciudad colonial española más cercana a Cancún y la Riviera Maya, por lo que vale la pena visitarla para ver otra "cara" de México. Pasearemos por las calles más atractivas de Valladolid, quizás curioseando en sus boutiques y también en la plaza central, y a menudo cerramos el día con una bebida refrescante junto a la catedral. Conduciremos durante 5-30 minutos para llegar a Valladolid, y después de recorrer el pueblo mágico conduciremos durante aproximadamente 2 horas para regresar a tu punto de recogida en Cancún, Puerto Morelos o Playa del Carmen.

This was such a great tour! Paul offered customized recommendations and slight detours based on our individual preferences. He was very knowledgeable about all the stops and everything else in between. Based on the above, we definitely got a local taste of the region. Thanks again, Paul!
Our day with Paul was phenomenal. I’m an over-planner and over-thinker, so I connected with Paul months ahead of our trip, and he engaged with me immediately and continued to be a resource for questions prior to us ever meeting! Everything from booking, pick up, the tour itself, and returning to the hotel was super smooth. Zero stress from point to point. The cost of the tour is 100% aligned with value. Our day with Paul was filled with history, cultural insights, humor, and yummy food we would not have discovered without him! Our group of four opted for the Chichen Itza, Cénote, and Valldolid day, and we are so glad we did! We certainly would have booked another day with him exploring other sites and areas if we were here longer! The four of us are the on the big and tall side, so we opted for the Mitsubishi Xpander vehicle over the VERY COOL VW Bug. The ride was comfortable and quiet. This adventure was without a doubt the highlight of our visit, and should we return, we will be seeing Paul again!

The entire day was thoughtfully curated and never felt rushed or overly scripted. Paul is incredibly knowledgeable and he brought the history to life in a way that was engaging without being overwhelming, and he adjusted the depth of information based on our interests. What really stood out was how he tailored the pace of the day to us, making it feel like a truly personalized experience rather than a standard tour. Paul was recommended to us by our friend who used to work with him and we are so grateful to her for introducing us. We spent 2 full days with Paul and could have happily gone on for so many more. We cannot recommend him and his trips more highly. On the first day he took us to Chichén Itzá and on the way we got to know him whilst he explained the history of the Mayan period and that of the Yuucatan penninsula in general. Once at Chichén Itzá he continued his brilliant tour telling us about all the buildings, and combined this with his characteristic friendly and fun approach so that the whole experience was both fascinating and totally enjoyable. He was happy to go at any pace to suit our questions. After that he took us to a beautiful Cenote, timing the visit perfectly to avoid the crowds. After a delicious lunch in a restaurant he chose to suit our needs, we wandered around Valladolid with him where, once again, his immense knowledge of the area and its history made the visit brilliant. At the end of the day, driving around in his wonderful and incredibly comfortable Beetle we felt like we'd certainly made a new friend, as well as having had a perfect day. As already mentioned, we could not recommend him more highly!

What a fantastic tour from start to finish great fun! Paul was just superb from local area knowledge, to information around the ruins, He designed the tour to suit our needs and desires, kept the kids interested and included in all with interactive experiences along the way. Plus also a professional photographer so win win. The Absolute highlight of our holiday and strongly recommend to all. We Will be sure to contact Paul next time we visit Mexico again.
We had a wonderful time with Paul. We had a group of 4, and were skeptical about travelling the distance in the VW Bug, so Paul made arrangements to drive us to Chichén Itzá in a quite comfortable Audi Q5. He arrived promptly at 6:30 am, was patient with hotel security and got us on the road promptly. We made it to Chichén Itzá shortly after opening, before the vast majority of the crowds formed. He was a great guide, answered any questions we had and was very interactive. We felt very comfortable with Paul. We opted to skip the cenote experience (as we have already done similar experiences). It was great to have that flexibility. On the way to Valladolid, we stopped by a great authentic restaurant in Kaua. He showed us our lunch being prepared-handmade tortillas and pork. It was delicious. We shopped at Valladolid, ate too much, talked about our experiences and travels - and headed back. At the end of our journey, Paul sent us all the photos that he had been taking throughout the day - which was very much appreciated. I would definitely recommend Paul to my friends and family if they ever visited the area. Thanks, Paul!
