A fantastic full-day tour from Bayeux with Paul! We had an amazing experience discovering the D-Day sites in Normandy. The tour was very well organized, comfortable, and full of fascinating historical context. Paul was an excellent guide: very knowledgeable, passionate, and genuinely funny. We especially loved the way he told the stories behind each place. He made the history feel alive, while still being respectful of the importance and emotion of the sites. The balance between clear explanations, great storytelling, and lighter moments made the whole day both moving and enjoyable. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Normandy and wanting to understand the history of the D-Day landings in a deeper and more memorable way. 5 stars without hesitation!
This was our second visit to Normandy, but our first using Viator. Fantastic experience for two reasons: Bryce, our guide, was amazing. He was warm and engaging. He narrated the “D Day story” clearly and accurately- with lots of facts and color that our “Band Of Brothers” obsessed grandson wanted. It was a challenging day because of heavy rain, but he worked around that and followed an itinerary we specifically wanted. I also very much appreciated the Vistor service as they answered every question I had regarding this tricky booking (I also have had great service from Viator on another reservation change later in this trip.
Yannick is a superb storyteller! He was recommended to us quite enthusiastically from a client, and we booked him to do full day tours of the Normandy D-Day landings, and of Mont St Michelle. He is an expert on the history of the area, and his passion and enthusiasm are evident in all of the details that he brought to life through his storytelling. Practically speaking, we had a group of 18 people to manage and he assisted us with every detail, from restaurant reservations for our lunch during the tour, to helping manage the flow of the group in crowded areas. He even arranged a special walk through the bay of Mont St Michelle with a park ranger- quite a highlight. Best of all, Yannick was so warm, engaging and entertaining that the long bus rides flew by. When we bring our next group to this area, we’ll definitely do more with Yannick and HQ Tours
This tour was amazing!! Yannick is an incredible guide, very knowledgeable and engaging. I highly recommend and would absolutely book another tour with HQ!!
Outstanding tour with Paul. He provided very knowledgeable information with interesting tidbits. He had wonderful maps and pictures of various sites and people that enhanced the experience. It was an all day experience that was enlightening despite the emotional and very sad details of what took place. He provided amble time to have lunch and to tour the museum. We started in Omaha beach and ended in Utah beach with a secret destination that was very moving. Paul was very passionate about the area which enhanced our experience. Would highly recommend. Fantastic day! We booked the private full day British sector tour for our Dad’s 60th birthday. The aim was to follow in the footsteps of his Dad, who landed on Sword Beach. HQ massively surpassed our expectations. Mickael went above and beyond, doing loads of research into our granddad in advance so he could personalise the day. His expertise was seriously impressive, and on top of that, he’s great company to spend the day with. Couldn’t recommend more highly.
Fabulous historic knowledge, friemdly!
I highly recommend HQ Company Tours. They made the entire process easy, were professional, courteous, and had excellent communication skills. Our guide Yannick delivered an incredible experience and made our visit to Normandy extra special. The knowledge and passion he posses are contagious and he was such a joy to be around. We learned so much from him and appreciated his willingness to answer questions and customize our experience. We booked a two day tour (D-Day Normandy Beaches and Mont Saint Michel) and I can’t recommend it enough. It’s a must do if you want to visit Normandy. 10/10 recommend.
Thank you very much for this kind review. We will let Yannick know that you had a terrific time with him. We are pleased to see that you have enjoyed your experience at Mont Saint Michel and discovering the D Day sites. Hope to see you soon again!
A private best of D-day tour for seven. From the moment Gwen picked us up to the time he dropped us off, he shared a wealth of knowledge about WWII, the allies, the Germans, the battles and the people. Made it come alive for all of us. One of the best tours any of us have ever taken. Highly recommend if you want to learn about the events. Gwen also steered us to good restaurants and places to visit for the rest of our stay in Normandy.
From the moment Gwen picked us up, he shared interesting stories about the region and the different locations we visited. He connected the dots, answered all of our questions, helped really get a feel for WWII, d-day and beyond. Even after 8 hours, we were still intently listening to his stories. SO knowledgeable and we couldn’t have asked for more. Gwen also provided us with great recommendations for other Normandy areas to visit and restaurants to try out.
