Ávila es la capital provincial más alta de España (1.131 metros de altitud), y se encuentra a unos 100 km de Madrid, al noroeste. La ciudad vieja conserva el trazado típico de las ciudades romanas; sin embargo el símbolo indiscutible de la ciudad es la muralla medieval. Esta ciudad abierta y amurallada es Patrimonio de la Humanidad, y su riqueza cultural e histórica la convierte en un lugar especial para disfrutar de sus calles y plazas.
No muy lejos de Ávila, a unos 80 km al noroeste, llegamos a Segovia. El casco antiguo de Segovia y su Acueducto también son Patrimonio de la Humanidad. En la ciudad vieja hay muchos edificios civiles y militares históricos, tanto de construcción cristiana como judía. Y fuera de la ciudad vieja hay un castillo encantador, casi un palacio de cuento de hadas, en lo alto de una roca: el Alcázar. Algo que hay que probar y recordar es la cocina segoviana, muy conocida fuera de sus fronteras, no solo en España sino también a nivel internacional. Platos como los judiones, el cerdo asado y el cordero asado son sus famosas especialidades. Con respecto a los buenos restaurantes, dos de los recomendados por la Guía Michelin son el ‘Mesón de Cándido’ y el ‘Restaurante Duque’.

Must see historical cities in Spain and a private tour provides great flexibility. Our guide was very knowledgeable and thorough in her explanations of the sites and the history. She was flexible to accommodate our pace (my partner requires a cane for mobility) and the tour operator even agreed to drop us off near Segovia for our next adventure instead of requiring us to return to Madrid. Really great and I highly recommend this if you want to avoid the crowds of tours or need customization.

This is an absolutely fantastic tour! A 10 out of 10! Our guide was amazing! Both cities are a must see! Our guide was knowledgable about both cities and the Church of St Teresa of Avila is a must. The Roman aqueduct in Segovia is amazing and not to be missed. Truly an amazing day! Highly recommend.

A wonderful private tour to Avila and Segovia! Our driver, Pavlo, was early and waiting for us, which was so refreshing (our other tours we had to call once the guides were late) Our tour guide, Mati, was so friendly and knowledgeable and on time as well :) She was always taking our pictures of us enjoying our time. In Segovia, we ate at a wonderful restaurant right next to the aqueduct where she knew the owner. We got wonderful service and even a little gift. It was a wonderful day!!
