Very good tour! They arrived for us on time and Herbert the guide helped us at all times and was watching over us, he helped us in the border process very kindly. The place was beautiful I give 100% highly recommended. I'd do it again.
This tour was very interesting for a variety of reasons. The pick up was early in the day to ensure an early arrival at the Copan Ruins to avoid excessive heat and crowds. Going early was so worth it and the site itself is spectacular! The local guide was very knowledgeable and Herbert provided excellent service with driving, through border control in each country and providing additional facts on the round trip journey. I thought it was super cool to have been in El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras all in a single day and loved getting extra passport stamps at each stop along the way and back!
Thank you so much Jessica for sharing your detailed and wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that you had such an enjoyable experience on the tour. We’re thrilled that the early pickup worked out so well for you. Starting the day ahead of the heat and crowds really makes a difference, and it’s great to know that it enhanced your visit to the spectacular Copan Ruins. We’re also glad you found the site itself as impressive as we do! It’s fantastic to hear that the local guide’s knowledge added so much to your experience. We take pride in working with guides who can bring the history and culture of the region to life. And a special shoutout to Herbert—thank you for highlighting his excellent service! From driving to navigating border crossings and sharing extra facts along the way, we’re proud to have him on our team making the journey seamless and informative. We love that you enjoyed the unique thrill of visiting three countries—El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras—in a single day. Those extra passport stamps are a fun perk, aren’t they? It’s all part of our goal to create memorable and one-of-a-kind adventures for our guests. Thank you again for your feedback—we truly appreciate it! We’d be honored to welcome you back for another tour in the future. Safe travels!
The Copan ruins are quite unique among the Mayan treasures. They are smaller than Tikal, but definitely worth the visit. The guide at the ruins was excellent. A real bonus is the recreation of one of the temples, housed in the museum, with very good explanations of the site, and great examples of stonework and sculptures. It is a rather long day driving from San Salvador, but our guide and driver, Osmar, makes it interesting and fun. He is a fount of knowledge in all things Salvadoran. We were somewhat concerned about the multiple border crossings, but this went off without difficulty or any delays worth mentioning.
Was an amazing trip, van was air conditioned and comfortable and the driver and guide were amazing. Don't be intimidated by the long drive, it is worth it
My wife and I booked a day tour from San Salvador to Copan and could not have had a better experience. Between our great and knowledgeable driver and the wonderous historical site it made for a perfect day.
We had an amazing time with Osmaro. We traveled 3 countries in 1 day. It was pretty impressive. Definitely recommend.
I would like to recommend a tour with Eco Tours Petate. I just had a tour with Rafael this past Friday. We went to see the historical centre of San Salvador and also visit to Panchimalco village and Devil's Door (La Puerta del Diablo). It was very nice to learn many interesting things about the history of El Salvador and the places we visited. Rafael also sent us nice photos, he was taking throughout the day.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with the world. Thank you first for giving us the opportunity to share with you the beauty of this great country. Thank you for encouraging us to discover El Salvador. We will send Rafael your comments ;)
