The tour itself was very interesting. We saw frogs, spiders, a monkey, a kinkajoe, and lots of insects. The guide tried very hard to spot many animals and knew a lot to tell. We were a bit confused at first as the tour started in a garden of a farm, but later we did go further into the forest.

Spectacular guide and amazing adventure

The entire family really enjoyed this night hike! Our guide (Almond) was incredible at finding things for us to see, from the different kinds of frogs, stick bugs, salamanders, and spiders, to a bird’s nest with a White Breasted Wood Wren (adorable!), monkeys, vipers, and a lemur-like thing (cannot remember the name). He carries a spotting scope to zoom in on the animals and gives everyone a look. Even helps with photographs. He explains a ton and was very patient answering all of our questions. Without a doubt, I would highly recommend this tour. If we are ever back in this area, we will do it again!

Our super guide Diogenes

Our guide Diogenes was amazing. We saw really a lot of species during the night tour from 8pm until 10pm : toucans, kinkajou, amardillo, frogs, tarantula, stick insect, butterflies. We could not have seen these species with our guide because he knows how species behave during the night and where we can find them.

Mauricio was our guide and he put in a lot of effort to find some animals on our hike. He was very knowledgeable on the animal and plant species. He helped to get us some good photos of the animals we saw. We had an amazing time!

Night Tour & Bird Tour are worth it!

We were booked with Ficus Trails for a night tour and a bird watching experience the following morning. For the night tour we were armed with flashlights and rain jackets. Unfortunately for us, it was raining and Olman let us know it would be a quieter night. That being said, we did find walking sticks, spittle beetles, a tarantula, a wren in its nest, an opossum, a sleeping family of toucans, an armadillo, and a few others I can't remember. The following morning, Olman was kind enough to pick up directly from our hotel to get an earlier start. We headed out to a parking lot and saw all kinds of birds, including the blue-crowned mot-mot, after an hour or so we headed over to the Curi-Cancha Reserve. Mother nature, again was against us and it was overcast and dreary, but we did get to see and hear the unique three-wattled bellbird along with an amazing variety of hummingbirds.

Knowledgeable and passionate guide made this tour so much fun!

This night tour was so much fun! We saw so many frogs, snakes, scorpions, a sleeping toucan, and even a porcupine! Our guide went out of his way to get good pictures of the animals for us by climbing through the jungle to get just the right angle. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about his job as you could see in his excitement the whole time!
