El proyecto mas ambicioso de la ciudad de México en el siglo XX, ciudad universitaria alberga el futuro de México, ahí han estudiado los intelectuales mas importantes que ha dado nuestro pais, como el premio nobel Octavio Paz. Fue construida haciendo funsion de la arquitectura con los murales de Rivera, Siqueiros, O Gorman entre otros artistas que te explicaremos a detalle.
Por encargo de Diego Rivera, en 1931 Juan O'Gorman diseñó una de las primeras construcciones funcionalistas de Latinoamérica: una casa para el pintor y otra para su esposa Frida Kahlo, donde cada uno tendría su propio estudio. se encuentra en el sur de la Ciudad de México y está dedicado a preservar la memoria del muralista y su esposa; así como al estudio y análisis de su generación artística.
El recinto, destaca por su extensa colección de arte prehispánico, así como por su Espacio Ecológico que alberga flora y fauna endémica. Rivera proyectó la obra arquitectónica con el fin de resguardar su vasto acervo de piezas precolombinas, a la par de exponer en el edificio principal, las más bellas obras de este conjunto. Se exhiben 16 bocetos para distintos murales realizados por Rivera a comienzos de los años treinta. Exceptional tour discovering lesser-known places that take your breath away. A special thanks to Jesus, who with his enthusiasm guided me in discovering Mexican history and mythology. A tour not to be missed!
We had a wonderful personalized tour with Tiare who was inquisitive, informative and friendly. We enjoyed her knowledge about the history of the university murals and Olympic stadium and then went to see Diego and Frida’s studio space. Unfortunately we did not have time to visit the 3rd stop on the tour as we had Casa Azul booked later that afternoon. However instead Tiare took us to a local market to taste delicious tacos and explore the area around casa azul prior to our appointment. We had a great day and would definitely recommend Tiare as a tour guide for others and for our return to CDMX!

I had the pleasure of experiencing Jorge’s Legacy tour in Mexico City as a private tour. We visited UNAM, the Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo Studio House Museum, and concluded at the Museo Anahuacalli with its impressive pre-Hispanic art collection. Jorge is an exceptional guide—articulate, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about Mexican art and culture. His enthusiasm brought each location to life, and having the tour to myself allowed for a perfectly tailored experience. Highly recommend for anyone interested in Mexican art and history!
This was one of the best tours we have been on. Our guides combined the history of Mexico with architectural and art history insights. We enjoyed the tour of the the University and the Frieda Kahlo and Diego Rivera houses, but the true highlight was visiting the Museo Anahuacalli at the end. A fabulous day!
