We're so glad we booked this tour! It gave us a real sense of Paris beyond the usual sights, bringing the city's cultural heart to life through lesser-known historical stories and anecdotes about the literary, artistic, and political figures who shaped these two neighbourhoods. The tour covered a lot of ground without ever feeling rushed or crammed. Along the way, we discovered historical and cultural landmarks, as well as restaurants, pâtisseries, and cafés renowned for their food but also for the famous writers and artists who used to hang out there. Our guide, Ewan, was absolutely brilliant. His quirky sense of humour, combined with his deep knowledge of the area, made the experience really engaging and enjoyable. He was also incredibly attentive, taking the time to chat with everyone in the group and even making a surprise detour for one guest who wanted to see a few locations featured in Emily in Paris. We'd highly recommend it!
Having a knowledgeable guide who loves history makes a difference. It was a great tour with only 3 people total. Lots of walking and informational.
Great tour with Ewan! We learned so much on this tour and had a great time! Very informative and also fun.
Highly entertaining 3 hours! Ewan showed me around the big attractions on the left bank, but also delved into the arcane and lesser known: he pointed out the apartment where Joyce wrote Ulysses; the office where Ulysses was published; the bar where Hemingway refused to drink; the hotel where Wilde lived post incarceration and more. I very much enjoyed the vaguely gossipy side to these celebrity stories. Paris oh la la. Highly recommended!
Oh la la indeed! Thanks for coming along, it was fun having you! A la prochaine (see you next time!)
Had a wonderful experience discovering the city via a walking tour and with Ewan's historical knowledge and personable presentation.
Thanks a lot Elizabeth, it was great meeting you, so glad you enjoyed the tour! Ewan
This walking tour was truly the highlight of my time in Paris! Exploring the Left Bank with such a knowledgeable guide like Yuan/Yuen felt like stepping back in time—every street, café, and hidden corner was brought to life with fascinating stories of history, literature, art, and culture. I loved how he combined historical insight with fun anecdotes, making the experience engaging and easy to follow. The small group size was perfect; it felt intimate, personal, and gave us the chance to ask questions without ever feeling rushed. Walking through the Latin Quarter, seeing the spots where famous writers and philosophers once gathered, and discovering hidden gems I never would have found on my own made the experience unforgettable. The pacing was relaxed, giving us time to soak in the atmosphere, take photos, and really appreciate the beauty of the Left Bank. If you want to experience Paris beyond the typical tourist sights and truly feel its historic soul, I cannot recommend this tour highly enough. An absolute must-do!
Thanks so much for such a wonderful review! Your enthusiasm was infectious and makes my job so much easier and all the more pleasurable! Come back and see us in Paris any time! Best wishes Ewan
Ewen’s tour was the highlight of our holiday! As we meandered through the Left Bank, not too fast and not too slow, he provided us with such rich and detailed commentary, building upon the smattering of an understanding we already had about Roman, Christian, medieval, revolutionary and modern life. I totally recommend this tour for a combination of fun, gentle exercise and knowledge building 🤗
Thanks so much Fiona! Its always a pleasure for me too to have a captive audience! Come back and see us in Paris again soon!
What a fun tour with a great guide who really knew his stuff, highly reccomened! Super interesting neighbourhood and Ewan was full of cool stories.
Thank you so much for joining me in the Latin Quarter! It was a pleasure for me too!
Fantastic tour with Ewan! easy going and very knowledgeable in all the quirky things about Paris that would likely be missed in a "more conventional" tour. 5/5
Thanks so much! You're welcome back anytime! Ewan
