Our family of 5 adults spent a very nice afternoon with Mydie on our walking food tour. We booked it for the afternoon that we arrived in Dublin, and it was a great way to get some fresh air, stay awake, and see the city. Mydie was very personable and easy to hang out with. She passed along some good information/history about Dublin and then took us to some great places to eat. It was a LOT of food, so come hungry! I think we made 5 food stops in total. Ask upfront what the stops are going to be so you can plan out how much to eat at each stop. The beef stew and fish and chips in the middle of the tour were excellent! Overall, this was a great experience and Mydie was wonderful.
Mydie dove right into all the culture and history of Ireland. She drew in personal family stories and provided great context. She also listened to things we wanted to do and tailored the tour nicely. I recommend Mydie!
Ruairi made sure we had the best possible introduction to the local food scene! Come hungry, and curious and you’re in for a real treat. Ruairi walked us around the main downtown area of Dublin, stopping at a wide range of restaurants, shops and pubs to ensure we got the most authentic experience. We enjoyed tasting Irish chocolate, fish and chips, stews, and more (and of course a Guinness) all while being entertained by the stories of the cities history. Our favorite part was getting to know Ruairi, he is a great ambassador to the city, and all around a really fun person with a big heart. Hands down one of our favorite tours of our holiday!
It was the worst experience that I have ever had in my travel. They canceled my tour five minutes before it started so I was stuck without a tour but also in the rain. I would advice other to book with another company. Don’t waste your time and money with this tour. Unless you want a lot of sorry and good luck.
Dear Ernest, We are deeply sorry for what happened in Dublin. Having your tour cancelled five minutes before it was due to start, and being left without support in the rain, is a completely unacceptable experience and we understand your frustration entirely. Occasionally, our platform and Viator's do not sync properly, and we suspect this may have been the case here. It is something we are actively working to improve so that no guest is caught off guard like this again. We hear you, and we know that an apology alone does not make up for a ruined afternoon. What we can promise is that your feedback is being taken seriously at every level. Dublin is a city full of warmth and character and we hope it still showed you some of that despite this experience. We would love the opportunity to restore your faith in Withlocals one day. Kind Regards, The Withlocals Team
Ruairi was absolutely incredible! Very knowledgeable and funny. Amazing tour! Will absolutely do it again next time we’re in Dublin!!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our walking food tour. It was an especially unique way to spend my birthday. Our guide was knowledgeable and shared great stories. From Guinness to Irish coffee!
This was the highlight during our November 2025 Dublin visit. Our guide, Ruairi, was everything you would want for a local food tour guide. A local himself, he knows the history, ins and outs, best to foods to try and best stories to tell. The weather was cold and rainy and still we had so much fun, as mentioned, this was a true highlight. I felt like we were hanging with a longtime friend who was sharing the best parts of this city. Our hearts and bellies were full after our day with Ruairi! No spoilers on exact restaurants but sharing some of the pics along the way!
Had a fab few hours walking, eating and drinking with Ruairi our Guide. Our palate has been well and truly spoilt.. The knowledge, history and humour by Ruairi made it such a memorable trip. Had the best ever Fish and Chips from Burdocks …….. Highly recommend Thank you
I understand things happen but the tour operator cancelled 1 hour prior to our meeting time. Evidently they don’t have additional staff to help them if anything arises and they cannot conduct the tour. We didn’t have another day in Dublin to reschedule. Therefore this was a big disappointment.
Hi Andrea, We deeply regret the inconvenience and disappointment caused by the last-minute cancellation of your tour, especially given your limited time in Dublin. We completely understand how frustrating this must have been, and we sincerely apologize for not having alternative arrangements in place to support you. Thank you for your valuable feedback. Best wishes, Withlocals Team
Ruairi was a fantastic guide. We got amazing food and beverages along with some great history on Ireland and the locations we visited. Highly recommend his tour. The food options were fantastic. We would definitely do this tour again with him in a future visit to Dublin
