This was the best food tour we have ever done. The host ( Bobby ) was amazing Grew up in the neighborhood and still lives there to this day Learned so much about it all Was so awesome You must do this tour Worth every dollar

What can I say about Bobby that has’t already been said about him already? He is a warm, informative, and lovely tour guide. He clearly knows his stuff, has a passion for his city and neighborhood, and is doing this for the love of the game and the community. He understands what makes food delicious, what telling the background adds to the destinations he takes us to, and the importance of the personal ties and history of neighborhood that he and the businesses he takes us to in North End share. I took my parents and they were delighted — we came away eating some of the best food we’d had on our trip, so stuffed we couldn’t even bear to think of eating dinner, much less even our dessert until later. Anyone can take you to eat food, even delicious, food, but not everyone can make you feel memories you hadn’t lived, or understand just what it means for a business to have weathered the last 50-100years in the same way that Bobby has. My favorite part was meeting all the proprietors of the shops — They were all so warm and welcoming, and clearly proud of everything they stock or produce, and in so many ways, treating us all as if we had been part of the neighborhood they’d been servicing their whole lives, making suggestions based on what we like, offering for us to try things we might be interested in. It reminded me so much of what it feels like to be a regular at a restaurant in a city you’ve lived in — being on a first-name basis and catching up with your friends who happen to be selling you the best of whatever they have that day. I can’t say all our trip experiences were with nearly as many warm people in Boston, but what I can say is that Bobby and the businesses on his tour clearly show some of the best that Boston has to offer in hometown pride.

Bobby is personable and passionate about the authentic Italian food in his hometown. There is more than plenty to try and he carefully selected the choices including pizza, pasta, prosciutto, sandwich, olive oil and balsamic pairing, limoncello, special Italian rice ball and best cannoli I’ve had in quite some time. Choices change depending on when you go based on what is best/fresh. What really makes it stand out is that he seamlessly weaves in immigrant history of the North end of Boston intertwined with the food and best, he makes it personal, generously sharing his personal history and experiences in his neighborhood. Well worth the price as we didn’t need to eat for the rest of the day!

So much food! You won't be disappointed by this tour. Bobby has lived in the neighborhood forever and shares the history of the community from direct experience. He seemed to know everyone we ran into along the way, and he had personal connections to the places and people we visited. We couldn't eat all of the food that we got, and we left with extra goodies and samples as well. Had a great time.

This food tour was EXCELLENT!!! Bobby was amazing. He was very clear on our meeting spot, made everyone feel welcome, told stories of his growing up in the area and owning a restaurant in the area. The food was great. Pizza, pasta, wine/soft drink, Limoncello, olive oil, cheese, vinegar, sub sandwich and cannoli. 3 hours long. He made it work for 6 in our party with a stroller. About 25 in our group total. The restaurants were ready for us when we got there, no waiting at all. Would definitely do it again when in town!!

This tour is a great way to really get the history of the neighborhood, meet some of the local families that have been there for generations all while getting to visit their establishments and taste their products, from pizza and pasta to coffee and limoncello, to pastries. The tour offers a little bit of everything. The group size stays small at around 20 which makes for a more personal tour. I’d recommend this for anyone from families with teens to corporate outings. Bobby is great and has so much to offer from his personal experience of growing up in this neighborhood!

I have been on many walking food tours. This one, however, is the best one ever! Bobby grew up in the area and is the best guide. So much history shared and the food - oh, my goodness! Absolutely delicious! Likewise, each dish/drink has a story with it. Highly recommend this tour!

Bobby was a great tour guide, born and raised and you could tell EVERYONE knew and loved him in the neighborhood. Food was delicious, comparable to our recent trip to Italy. Wonderful experience, definitely book.
