Fun tour, and just long enough with an 11 year old; great food options and flexibility to make adjustments depending on how adventurous you are/what you want to try.
Hola Iryna! Thank you for your review. I’m glad you had a good experience through local Playa del Carmen. Best wishes :)
I loved the tour. I got to go eu an array of foods from local taco and soap joints to exotic foods such as bugs. (The bugs are actually surprisingly tasty!) The guide was fabulous and customized the tour based on my dietary requirements. He went above and beyond his duty to give me a great experience. I highly recommend this tour.
I had a great time exploring the Mercados with Alejandro! He shared a lot about life in Mexico as well as the food and the markets, and made adjustments as we went to navigate stops not being open yet (we went early). He humored my many questions and I felt like I was hanging out with a friend (vs. touring with a guide) - so much fun! Highly recommend!
Hola Anne! Thank you for your review and recommendation. I’m glad you enjoyed your experience through the market and Alejandro’s company, we loved having you. Big hugs :)
Tonatiuh was amazing! We did the food tour at the begining of our trip to Mexico City and all his suggestions on what to do after the excellent and informative food tour he gave us really made the trip special! Thank you!!
Hola! Thank you for your review. For me the best time to take our tours is in the beginning of your trip, I’m glad you made it like that and enjoyed your experience. Best wishes :)
Tonatiuh was very knowledgeable and friendly. He went the extra mile to make the tour tailored to my interests! Would definitely go again!

Hola! Thank you for your review and recommendation. I’m happy to know that you enjoyed your time through the local market in Mexico City. Big hugs :)
I had a great time on the market food tour with Tonatiuh. We tasted some good foods and learned some history along the way.
Hola! Thank you for your review. I’m glad you enjoyed your tour and the food the local market has to offer. Best wishes :)
The tour was excellent! As a visitor, it would be easy to feel overwhelmed in such a large market and not know what food to try, but we made four excellent stops (at 2 markets and one on the street). In addition to the "official" stops, the guide explained everything wonderfully. We learned a lot about the history of the markets and the neighborhood. The guides were very friendly, curious and informative. I highly recommend it!
Hola Elizabeth! Gracias por tu comentario. Me alegra saber que tuviste una buena experiencia y disfrutaste del tour por el mercado local de la Ciudad de México. Saludos :)
This is my second tour with this company, and I wouldn't have gone back if it wasn't good. Full disclosure: I did not pay for this tour but agreed to give an honest review. I have not tried other food tours in the city for comparison, but hope to at some point. This tour was shorter than the other one and the amount of food was much more manageable. We got a large beverage, quesadilla, taco, fresh tortilla and dessert, so most people should be able to eat everything given to them, but not walk away hungry. It was nice to get some history of the neighborhood and exposure to some foods I might not have tried otherwise, though if you're looking for something truly "exotic" you will want to return to the market afterward or on your own. The most "exotic" we got was venison, which is pretty normal fare for many. The market does however offer a variety of insects, arachnids and less commonly found game. The tour is offered in Spanish and English, we all agreed to Spanish. Groups are small and they come prepared with weather contingencies in mind. There is seating at the stops, for anyone concerned with the level of physical activity, though there were some crowded areas and busy streets to cross so does require some caution. Overall a pleasant way to have an interesting lunchtime experience that's a bit outside of the ordinary and gives you a taste of traditional Mexican foods you won't find at the more tourist targeted places
Hola Elisha! Thank you for your review. I’m glad you got to experience one our tours for the second time and that you enjoyed your time in the market. Best wishes :)
