Pararemos en Riad zitoun el kdim para degustar el SEFANJ marroquí. Sfanj es pastelería marroquí. Se hace con masa, se le da forma de aros, y luego se fríe en aceite caliente hasta que adquiere un color dorado. Los marroquíes se acostumbran al sfenj a partir de la primera infancia, ya sea por la mañana antes de que comience la escuela o al final de la tarde después de que terminen las clases. La deliciosa comida dulce se sirve caliente con un chorrito de azúcar, generalmente con una taza de té de menta, y se puede encontrar en casi todas las panaderías en las calles marroquíes o mercados tradicionales
Visitaremos un mercado de aceitunas. Tendremos una parada y probaremos todo tipo de aceitunas y (harisa) harisa es un chiles calientes.
Después de probar las aceitunas nos dirigiremos al Derb Dabachi y probaremos el marroquí Mseman. Los msemen son unas tortitas marroquíes planas y de forma cuadrada que se suelen servir para el desayuno o el té. Se hacen aplanando la masa rghaif sobre una superficie aceitada hasta que el papel esté fino, salpicándola con mantequilla y sémola, luego doblándola en tercios (dos veces) para dar forma a una tortita en capas.
Después de probar Mseman caminaremos a Jemaa El fna y probaremos Chebakia. Chebakia es uno de los alimentos marroquíes más famosos y es definitivamente una galleta que cualquiera que pruebe adora. La comida dulce tradicional se puede encontrar en las casas de la mayoría de los marroquíes, especialmente durante el mes de Ramadán, en restaurantes también, y por supuesto en las bulliciosas calles de medina de Marruecos.
Zaalouk es una ensalada ahumada de berenjena y tomate, sazonada con especias y ajo. A menudo se machaca a una consistencia similar a un baño y se rocía con aceite de oliva. Como testimonio de los abundantes productos de Marruecos, Zaalouk celebra la humilde berenjena. Sirviendo como acompañamiento o entrante, sus sabores ahumados y abrasivos lo convierten en un elemento básico en la mezcla marroquí. El mechoui es un plato tradicional marroquí de cordero asado. El cordero se sazona con una mezcla de especias, luego se asa lentamente hasta que esté tierno y se caiga del hueso. La carne a menudo se come con los dedos, por lo que es una experiencia gastronómica comunitaria. Mechoui se reserva a menudo para ocasiones especiales y grandes reuniones. We had a wonderful food tour with Mobarak! Our nine-year-old son who is an extremely picky eater absolutely loved the tour and even tried snails, which was his favorite part. We tried many street foods and local places which was just what we wanted. Highly recommend!

We had a great tour personalized to our likes and requests. The guide was very friendly and accommodating. He asked what type of foods we had already tried and what we wanted to try. He also made recommendations on what he thought we should eat. Enjoyed trying everything and would definitely recommend this experience. Great way to try a lot of local dishes from local merchants.

Definately one of the best nights we enjoyed. The directions to the meeting point were super and given it was our first night, we found Mbarek straight away. Being out of season there was only my Husband and myself on the Tour. Mbarek made us feel at ease immediately and then off we went. He took us around the whole Medina and areas that we probably would either not have found or perhaps not gone into not knowing the area. We sat and ate with locals at different venues and sampled traditional Moroccan cuisine with beautiful mint tea. MBarek explained a lot about the history of buildings, the culture and the different foods and spices. I will say, make sure you are hungry as everything was stunning but I felt I could not do the food justice as just too much, although my Husband gave it a very good go!! We really enjoyed everything we tried...even the fantastic snail stand in the Medina and the amazing 'half' sandwiches (which we had another three of during our stay). Unfortunately, I cannot load any photo's of the lovely dishes or Mbarek himself as my phone was stolen on the last day and I had not uploaded to the cloud, so pretty gutted about that. All of that aside, I would definately recommend this tour. For a first night, it also gives you all your bearings as the Medina can be a bit a maze for first timers, but after this night - we always knew where we were and how to get everywhere. Authentic Moroccan street food tour. Our guide spoke excellent English and was very informative on the foods plus any other questions we asked him about Marrakesh. We walked a good wide area, so got to see lots of the bustling city. Was nice to try the foods the locals eat. We was very full by the end of the tour!
