The wine tour was a load of fun and so informative! With Joshua as our thoroughly engaging guide, we enjoyed learning about each wine, as well as the unique history of the wine industry in the Bordeaux region. And the food pairings were excellent! As we walked between the tasting shops, Joshua also shared fascinating tidbits about sights along the way—this is so much more than a wine tasting! The group’s small size creates the intimate experience of being shown around the neighborhood by a local whose passion for Bordeaux is contagious. It’s the anti-tour bus tour, and a must do!
Thank you so much for touring with us, come back any time! Joshua
Went up to Bordeaux on a whim and had literally nothing planned. I had never been to the city before nor did any research about it, so it was a blessing to find out about Food Lover Tour. I joined the Urban Wine tour on Friday night and it was so much fun! So much, in fact, that I ended up booking the Capucins Market one the following morning. I was a bit skeptical at first because I was by myself, but Joshua was so warm and welcoming that I gave it a try. His tours are filled with wit, history, the most amazing food and will not only help you really discover Bordeaux but they will also get you out of your comfort zone (who knew I liked oysters!). Joshua took us to the most charming, unique, and easy-to-miss-if-you're-not-a-local places, and I am still dreaming about the food and the wine we had. Do not go to Bordeaux and leave without having experienced one (or both, if you're lucky) of the tours as you will leave with the biggest of smiles - and a very, very happy belly.
A trip to Bordeaux should always include a wine tour and this one was terrific. Our guide, Joshua, showed a deep love of the regional wines and cuisine (selected cheeses, charcuterie) as well as a keen understanding of wine making and Bordeaux history and its influences on the local wine industry. Informative and delicious!
What an incredible tour! My fiancé and I did the wine tour and it was worth every penny. The wines we tasted were delicious, and it was satisfying to drink them alongside some of their history. As a self-proclaimed cheese addict, it was fascinating to learn about WHY French cheese is so special, and the cheeses we tasted were delectable! My fiancé is lactose-intolerant and I happily stole his samples. Joshua was a perfect tour guide- bringing the perfect balance of experience, intellect, humor and personality to the group! He is clearly well-versed in what he shares about and has such a fun and easygoing demeanor. We loved him! 11/10, highly recommend!
We had an excellent tour with Joshua. He’s incredibly eloquent and explains the history of the place we pass by in the city in such an engaging and understandable way. The stops were great, good amount of walking and sitting down, we tasted a great variety of wines paired with cheeses, charcuterie, and even some delicious sweets. Very good explanations of the Bordeaux wine specialities. It felt like a real tasting experience, not just small samples. What we loved most is that it felt as if we were touring with a friend showing us his city, a friend incredibly knowledgeable! The tour is pretty family friendly, we ourselves had an 18 month old baby. I highly recommend, must do in Bordeaux !
We had a very enjoyable late afternoon walking tour of Bordeaux starting with a local aperitif drink of Lillet. This set the mood for the tour, Joshua was very engaging and gave us just the right amount of information on local wines as we wandered around a few local bars to try white and red wines with some delicious local cheeses and charcuterie.
We had an amazing wine tour with Joshua. His knowledge of Bordeaux wines was excellent, and his local knowledge and contacts helped give a real air of authenticity to what he was showing us. Bordeaux is all about wine so this relaxed "walk with some wine" was brilliant. Thoroughly recommended.
