Tour en minitrekking por el Glaciar Perito Moreno
Descripción
Minitrekking es un tour de día completo que te permite caminar en la cima de un Glaciar Moreno con crampones. Operación todo el año Duración: 10 horas Trekking en el hielo : Cerca de una hora y diez minutos aprox. Tiempo total de caminata : aproximadamente 3 horas. Advertencia : esta excursión, por el grado de esfuerzo y dificultad que presenta, no es recomendable para las siguientes personas : mayores de 65 años y menores de 10 años, mujeres embarazadas, personas con sobrepeso o algún tipo de discapacidad.

Itinerario
La excursión comienza con el servicio de recogida en los hoteles en la ciudad de El Calafate, y pasa por la ruta provincial N° 11 hasta el área del glaciar Perito Moreno, después de viajar 75 km.
Una vez en el Parque Nacional, el autobús le llevará a los balcones, donde le estará esperando el guía para informarle sobre los diferentes senderos. Allí, podrá pasear por ellos libremente.
Un bus de la compañía lo llevará al muelle "Bajo las Sombras", a unos 6 km de las pasare, donde se embarcará y durante 20 minutos se realizará una navegación a través del Brazo Rico, disfrutando de impresionantes vistas de las paredes frontales del glaciar y el Canal de los Témpanos
Luego de chequear los últimos detalles, se organizará a los visitantes en grupos de 20 personas, que seguirán a los guías por la orilla del lago hacia el borde del glaciar. Una vez sobre el hielo, los guías colocarán a cada participante un par de crampones y les explicarán cómo utilizarlos. Recibirán explicaciones sobre la flora, la fauna y la glaciología general de la región, así como sobre el particular fenómeno que se produce en el glaciar Perito Moreno y que finalmente causa su ruptura.
Una vez finalizado el minitrekking, regresamos al muelle "Bajo Las Sombras", navegando nuevamente por el Brazo Rico.
El bus estará esperando a los pasajeros en el puerto para llevarlos de regreso a sus hoteles en El Calafate.

Lugares y horarios de recogida
La recogida está incluida solo en algunos hoteles de El Calafate. Recuerda enviarnos el nombre del hotel donde te alojarás en El Calafate. Cuando reserve el tour le daremos el tiempo para recogerlo, puede ser diferente En la reconfirmación de la reserva le indicaremos si el alojamiento de cada pasajero está incluido en el horario de recogida. La recogida no incluye Bed&Breakfast ni alojamiento privado. En este caso, los pasajeros deberán presentarse en la agencia "Hielo y Aventura" (Avenida del Libertador 483, El Calafate, Santa Cruz, Argentina) en el horario indicado el día anterior a la excursión. La hora exacta de recogida será informada un día antes de la excursión. **La hora de recogida es asignada por la empresa Hielo y Aventura. ** La recogida en los hoteles, podría sufrir de 30 a 45 minutos de retraso, debido a las grandes cantidades de hoteles en la ciudad. Los horarios detallados en la descripción, han sido considerados siempre y cuando el pasajero haya sido asignado el primer turno del día (Recogida 07 : 30 hs // Devolución 17 : 30 hs). Pero dicho horario puede variar. El horario final dependerá de la disponibilidad y el tiempo de recogida asignado por la empresa, en el momento de confirmar su reserva. Los pasajeros deberán contemplar que la excursión tenga una duración total aproximada de 10 horas, comenzando con la hora de recogida en el hotel, hasta el regreso a la ciudad de El Calafate. Una vez confirmada la reserva, con los datos completos de todos los pasajeros y del hotel donde se alojarán, se enviará un mensaje con el horario exacto de recogida y devolución. Hay que recordar que el Minitrekking tiene una ruta fija de recogida por hoteles, que no incluye B&B, ni alojamientos privados. Si los pasajeros se encuentran en este tipo de alojamiento, deben presentarse a la hora indicada, en la oficina de "Hielo y Aventura", para tomar el traslado que los llevará al Perito Moreno. En la confirmación del servicio con hora de recogida, se aclarará si el alojamiento está incluido en el tour o no. Por los motivos antes mencionados, NO SE RECOMIENDA realizar este tour el día de llegada o salida del vuelo desde El Calafate.

- Limitaciones: Esta excursión, debido al grado de dificultad y esfuerzo requerido, solo es adecuada para personas de 8 a 65 años. - Las personas con sobrepeso no deben participar. Consideramos como tales aquellos que exceden los siguientes criterios: peso en kg mayor que el doble de la altura en cm menos 100 (por ejemplo, para una altura de 1,70 m: 170 menos 100 = 70 x 2 = 140)
- la edad minima es 8 y maximo 65 anos , sin excepcion
- Personas con cualquier grado o tipo de discapacidad física o mental que afecte su atención, progreso y / o coordinación.
- Personas cuyas capacidades cardíacas o vasculares están disminuidas, o usan stents, marcapasos u otras prótesis, por ejemplo: medicadas con anticoagulantes, varices de grado III (aquellas que son gruesas y múltiples), arritmias cardíacas.
- Personas que padecen enfermedades que provocan discapacidades respiratorias (EPOC, asma, enfisema, etc.).
- Edad mínima requerida para realizar la excursión: 10 años. Edad máxima permitida para la excursión: 65 años. NO hay excepciones de NINGÚN TIPO en este punto.
- No se permite fumar durante la excursión.

Rather than repeat everyone else saying what an amazing trip this is (& it is, if you can afford it, do it) I thought I'd write a review about the logistics of driving in your own car to Puerto Bajo. (where the boat leaves from) I was told by H&A that the drive would take me about 1.30 to 1.40 & that I should get there at least 30 mins early. My tour started at 0845. However the park only opens at 8am and it's a 20-30 min drive from the entrance to the port so you cannot arrive much before 0830. If you pre paid or are paying by cash you don't need to go into the office. Just grab one of the staff and show them your pass (or give them your cash) and they go and get your pass for you. Unlike El Chalten showing them your online purchase isn't enough, you have to receive a green paper ticket. If you're paying by card then you have to queue up to go into the office. If you arrive after 0830 though there probably won't be a queue. Puerto Bajo is about 15km from the park entrance. Their sign isn't prominent but you can see the boats as you come round an earlier bend in the road. In the end arriving at 0830 (or even later) wasn't a problem as the boat wasn't scheduled to leave until 0900. There is plenty of parking, and there are toilets both at the port and onboard. When you arrive at the other side there is a place to leave your rucksack and/or lunch before embarking on the hike and there are toilets there also. This is also where they give you gloves if you don’t have any. They’re not for the cold but to protect your hand should you fall. Overall we left Puerto Bajo at 9am and by 1.45pm we were back at the port.

One of the best things we did in Argentina. I’m 64 years old and in moderate good shape and not too difficult. However to walk on the glacier you need good knees because with each step you have to stomp your foot hard in the ice so the crampon’s stick. Otherwise you might slip. Lots of quad work. One tip; tie your shoes very tightly because your foot will slip and once they put the crampons in it’s too late to tighten them. Tour guides were fabulous and they assisted with steep parts plus there are guardrails in many parts. On glacier for about 90 minutes.

What a breathtaking and truly beautiful experience. This tour lets you see the glacier from multiple angles, including the unforgettable perspective from directly on top of it. The guides were friendly, professional, and made it clear that safety was a top priority throughout the entire trek. The distance itself is short, less than two miles, but the crampons add an extra layer of challenge that makes it feel adventurous without being overwhelming. Anyone in average physical shape should be able to enjoy this experience comfortably. This is one of those rare, once in a lifetime experiences that fully lives up to the hype and then some.

The mini-trekking experience is one of the highlights I had in Patagonia. It's well organized and the company Hielo y Aventura is a professional operator. On this one-day excursion, we were able to see the imposing Perito Moreno glacier from the national park walkaways, take a boat to experience it from close view along with the floating ice bergs, and trek on ice for an hour to see the spike of white, blue, white and gray ice pillars that make up the glacier. I felt I couldn't have dreamed of a more beautiful site than this. Simply no reference point. My guide Tamara accompanied the full bus from beginning to end. She is energetic, funny and eager to her knowledge and love for the region with us. Everyone enjoyed her interactions. I also had Marcos as my trekking guide, who is very good at guiding a group of unorganized tourists not to go where we aren't supposed to. Safety is their number one priority! Overall, this is a fun and informative experience. The whisky, chocolate, and hot tea at the end add a sweet touch to the unforgettable memory. Would recommend!
