Descripción
Únase a nuestra excursión en tierra para grupos pequeños desde el puerto de Katakolon con nuestro vehículo con aire acondicionado (minibús o autocar) con boletos sin colas incluidos. Conduzca durante 45 minutos desde Katakolon a Olimpia con comentarios de su guía a bordo. Al llegar a Olimpia, disfrute de una visita guiada por el sitio arqueológico y el museo con un guía turístico de habla inglesa con licencia oficial. Luego tendrás tiempo libre para explorar la moderna ciudad de Olimpia antes de regresar al puerto. Siempre nos aseguramos de que regrese al puerto antes de la hora de "todos a bordo". La hora de inicio del tour está sujeta a la hora de llegada del crucero. Si el barco, por ejemplo, llega a las 09:00, el tour comenzará a las 09:30 en lugar de a las 08:30.

En el sitio arqueológico, entre varios otros restos de edificios importantes, verás el gimnasio y la palaestra, la ronda Philipeion, el taller de Fidias donde se construyó la estatua de oro y marfil de Zeus, los templos de Zeus y Hera, el altar donde se enciende la antorcha olímpica en los días modernos y el antiguo estadio olímpico.
En el museo arqueológico se albergan todos los hallazgos que fueron excavados en el sitio arqueológico. Ofrendas de bronce y arcilla (trípodes y figurillas), armaduras, jarrones, las herramientas y la copa del taller de Fidias, el hermosísimo Hermes de Praxiteles, la Nike de Paeonios y las estatuas clásicas muy impresionantes y muy bien conservadas de los frontones del templo de Zeus, etc.
Su recorrido continuará con un ambiente totalmente diferente. El moderno pueblo de Olimpia se encuentra al lado del sitio arqueológico y el museo, donde puedes tomar una copa con los lugareños o explorar la calle principal con sus numerosas tiendas donde puedes encontrar de todo, desde joyas y ropa hasta artesanías para ti y tus seres queridos.

We loved every minute of our tour! Our guide was informative and personable. She did an excellent job of avoiding the crowds whenever possible and gave us time to explore our surroundings in Olympia. I would definitely recommend this tour.

I loved this tour! We only had 11 people in our group and our guide was an archaeologist who was so informative about the entire site. We got there early and toured the museums first which really helped us understand the site before arriving. Our guide was fantastic and told us some stories of Greek mythology too!

Excellent tour of the archaeological sites and the museum. There is some shade at the site, but make sure you take a hat or umbrella and plenty of water as it gets very hot.

We were lucky enough to get Zoe as our guide. She’s a trained archeologist and knew an incredible amount of detail about the archeological site. The transportation was top notch and the tour ran right on schedule. Definitely take the lunch option if it’s offered. The food was authentic and very good.

Super tour to ancient Olympia with Niki Tours! Our guide, Zoe, was fantastic!!! She gave us background history during the drive. And she did a great job guiding us thru the ancient site. Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Our guide (I think Shelly was her name) was extremely knowledgeable and had a good understanding of archeology and the history of Greece. She organised our small group so that we did not get stuck with the masses of 40+ people bus tourists and we had a very relaxing time and back well in time for our ships departure. She also was independent and not pushing any agendas!

Our tour to Olympia and site of the original Olympic Games was unbelievable. Our tour guide Zoey was extremely knowledgeable and walked us through the various section of the site as well as through the museum. She gave a real sense of the Olympic spirit and her descriptions of the various works of art were fantastic. The tour ended with a wonderful and delicious buffet lunch at a local restaurant which also included an OPA dance presentation. We truly felt immersed in the Olympic and Greek culture for a day. Kudos also to our bus driver who went out of his way to make our journey comfortable and minimize walking.
