Where to start, first they changed the meeting time because at the time we wanted, apparently there were no people!!!! Did not understand too much!!! Then false advertising, they say they only take 12 passengers and in the end, there were 24 of us!!!! The excursion was supposed to last 4 hours but ultimately only lasted 2.5 hours... and given our experience, it left a bit of a bad taste in our mouths, so we decided not to give tips, and he harassed us to give some!!!! Speaking French and Portuguese, I had decided to do the excursion in Portuguese, but upon arrival, they spoke to me in English!!!! Absolutely to be avoided.... The excursion is rushed at breakneck speed, not even enough time to properly see the fish!!!!
The most beautiful snorkeling outing! The water is clear; we saw plenty of fish of all sorts of colors, and we saw turtles; it was magnificent.
Our meeting point was just 2 blocks away from the Cruise Terminal, they were there on time and drove us to the marina, which is about 10 min. away. The staff is super nice and knowledable, except for the owner (Carla) who was not very friendly and sometimes rude with her employees (shame). They took us to very beautiful reefs where we saw turtles, lobsters, sharks (small ones), barracudas, and hundreds of fish. They offer plenty of cold water, sodas, juices and delicious homemade snaks (guacamole, chips, fruits). Please book with these operator, their employees are the best! Maybe Carla was having a bad day.
Finding our ride was a little challenging due to the chaos of so many people but the viator chat was helpful. Everyone was very friendly and it was nice to be in a small group. It was our family of 6 and a second family with 3 others on our own boat. Karla, who owns the establishment, was very friendly and helpful. She kept the whole thing organized. It was too windy for the regular sites so they found us some other nice sites that were not crowded. We saw lots of coral & fish as well as a few sting rays, tiny turtles, puffer fish & a conch shell. The beach stop was very informal - no where to sit, public access beach but the snacks were delicious. Manuel and Daniel were awesome and took really good care of us. I suggest to book directly through Karla for special benefits! (contact@oceanexperience.mx)
These guys are wonderful. They answer all questions and do their best to make sure you have a great time! They had over 60 reservations on the day I traveled with them in June 2026. They put 16 guests in a boat with 3-4 crew members. We traveled to 3 different locations to snorkel for about 25 minutes at each location. We saw fish, starfish, turtles, stingrays, and baby sharks. Then we went to another location that was 1 meter or 3 feet deep where everyone was able to get out of the boat and enjoy the water. The crew prepared our lunch while we swam or walked around in the water. Baby sharks and sting rays swam around in the water near us. Everyone had a great time! The food consisted of chips, guac, pico, pineapple, oranges, etc. There was plenty for everyone and many got seconds. Drinks consisted of soda, water, and beer. There was plenty and again some received multiple drinks. This was one of the best excursions I've taken, the price was very reasonable, and the people/crew were very friendly.
The owner is a very elegant woman who was exceptionally kind. Our crew with captain Miguel and Brayon were very fun and helped us to have a really great trip! We made it back to the ship with plenty of time. No extra or hidden fees. Picked us up and dropped us off right outside the port.
Hi thanks but being a consistent Viator customer past and future I have to say this mess was really bad. I had 9 people, we came off the cruise ship expecting the normal procedure where a guy would have a sign for us, but there was NOBODY. We had no text messages from anybody on phone , no emails, no phone calls. We also were not given a contact to ask for or call on our Viator confirmation. We frantically asked around, looked all over the Cozumel docks for over an hour until it was 30 min past our pickup time! Still nothing, so we gave up on you guys and had to take a taxi to a half-baked snorkeling spot. I had promised nine people in my family group a good time. You have a problem here in Cozumel with whoever this tour operator was, “Private Cozumel Tours” … You guys just saying “sorry , here is your money back” is not good enough and not you understanding how miserable this was on the crowded, hot and confusing Cozumel docks. My extra cost for the taxi to and from beach was $140, we spent another $320 on snorkles, food, water.
We were in the designated pickup location at the time stated with no one there to take us on the excursion. Despite multiple attempts at correspondence no one communicated with us at all. The phone number provided was not a working number. Very disappointed and now we are waiting what looks like 7 days for a refund decision. Beware of this vendor!
Was a great tour saw 2 sea turtles sharks sting rays star fish and many other fish guides did a great job of finding the different species
Picking up was a little stressful. The Trip Advisor contact did not forward our reservation to the Cozumel boat charter. Once we contacted them locally with the help of strangers then Carla had us picked up in front of Starbuck's very quickly. *confirm what company will be picking you up/who to look for* The boat ride out was beautiful. The captain and guide were kind and charming. Theu asked the boat what we wanted to see and found it for us. Including a baby nurse shark sleeping under a ledge!!! We saw tons of starfish and dozens of stingrays. All of the water was crystal clear and we could see scuba divers in the water below us. The fresh guac was the best I've ever had. This tour was a family favorite.
