Itinerario

We just went on this tour on April 2nd. The snorkeling itself was pretty cool. We saw tropical fish and 2 nurse sharks at the first reef area, massive starfish at the second area, and rays at the third area. Very cool. I would book the tour with a different company though. The issues: 1. When we arrived at port, our instructions just said to find the guide in their white Maybe tours shirt. We could not find anyone. After looking around and trying to figure it out for 20 minutes, we learned that we probably had to take a taxi to a different marina. We did so, and luckily it worked out. Had we not left our cruise ship early, we would have been late to the tour and missed it. 2. After checking in, we started to put sunscreen on. It was Blue Lizard reef safe mineral sunscreen. They would not allow us to put any sunscreen on. They argued that it would ruin the reef. I want to do my part to protect the reef of course, which is why I bought reef safe sunscreen. They said it's not regulated and that they're trying to change people's mindset about sunscreen - that no one needs it! Ridiculous. They need to either tell you about this when you book, or provide one of the few sunscreens for you that they deem safe. I believe the ones on this list are what they're looking for, but you'll have to confirm with Maybe Tours beforehand: https://savethereef.org/about-reef-save-sunscreen.html We are a family of very white people and we NEED sunscreen to not burn. They need to either provide the right sunscreen, or tell you during booking their exact requirements. They did none of this though. They didn't even offer the correct sunscreen for sale at their office. 3. The tour was quite serious. Only a couple jokes, not entertaining, and the guide spent lots of time yelling at us to stay close to him in the water. Wouldn't let us go more than like 15-20 ft from him. 4. They advertised this tour for kids, but the guide was not great with kids. Too serious. Not fun. And the snacks they provided were beer and ceviche. They had no kid-friendly snacks. Other tours we're providing fresh fruit and other food snacks.
Since we arrived at the port the person who would receive us did not have us on the list, at the time of entering the tour, the guide was not at all kind to us, he always sidelined us, for putting his attention on foreign tourism, and us as Mexicans terrible treatment, the truth we leave with a bad taste in our mouths, with the agency and with the treatment towards us as MEXICANS. The boat didn't carry an anchor, we had to anchor with another boat...
Great experience! Saw an eagle ray, sea stars, fish and a sea turtle. Cool to have sting rays swim right up to you. Enjoyed the tour very much! Gaspar and Filip and Natty did a fantastic job!
Great tour of Palancar and Columbia Reefs, and El Cielito. Christian was patient, safety-minded, and fun. We saw all kinds of fish, also rays and a nurse shark, and, of course, the starfish. Wonderful afternoon!
Great experience , remarkable seabed and a very friendly team. Every stop was great with many different marine animals.
This was our first snorkeling experience. Our main guide was AMAZING. He was so friendly and fun. As soon as we got to the first location and I jumped in, I had what I think was a panic attack, which has never happened to me before and took me by complete surprise. I instantly forgot the signal to use to notify him I needed help, but he spotted me from a ways and immediately came over. He stayed with me and my husband the entire time, helping us, fixing my goggles, letting me use the flotation device, etc until I was ready to let go. Without that, the whole experience would've been ruined for me. Because of his professionalism and thoughtfulness, I was able to calm my breathing and finally go out on my own. Once I did, it was the greatest experience of my life! Our guide truly made us feel safe and well taken care of the entire time. There were a few times I almost got mixed up with other groups, but he was on top of it and kept us together. The underwater photographer that took pictures and offered them at the end was a GREAT surprise. We had the most amazing time.
Wonderful to see my sisters do this for the first time! I love the smaller boats and less people. None of us eat ceviche, that’s why the four star rating We would definitely go again with these people
The experience of the tour was good . We saw alot of different sea life. Unfortunately it was never disclosed that when getting off the ship in Cozumel you had to take a taxi to the Marina ( we had 16 in our party ) that was costly. Then when we get there you had to hike to the harbor and try to find the place. There are no signs telling you where to go . After getting to Beachside tours to check in there is a port fee for everyone taking the tour. Finally on the boat they wanted to separate our party to another boat. After a long discussion they decided to keep us together. We were vacationing as a family and were told that we would all be on one boat. The crew on boat were nice and the Captain made us great guacamole with chips ,beer and juice. I guess I assumed Viator would disclose all the extra charges so we could have been prepared. Totally disappointed in there service
We booked this excursion months in advance and even called to make sure our group of 16 would be one boat. When we arrived, they reassured us again that all 16 of us would be on the boat. When we got ON the boat, a man who was in charged asked for my elderly dad and mom to get off the boat as the max on the boat was 14. I refused as we were told twice that all 16 of us would be on the same boat. The man was not happy with us. The actual crew on the boat were amazing and we saw multiple sharks, turtles, stingrays, starfish, fish, etc. It was great! Two things that this company did not state on the description of the tour was that there would be a $6 marina fee per person on their listing AND that you would need to find your own transportation to this marina. We were coming from a cruise ship and both cruise terminals were a 15 minute taxi drive to the marina. We thought it would be a short 5 minute walk and it definitely was not. Just so you know ahead of time how much extra money to bring.
Great experience. My friends and I were able to see a sea turtle, starfish, stingrays and many other fish like a barracuda. The crew was very nice and knowledgeable. After the main snorkling we were taken to a sand bar for drinks and the best guacamole and chips I've ever had. We were able to do some snorkling on our own during this time. There were so many stingrays swimming around us. The sand bar was probably my favorite. I would definitely do this tour again.
