Nuestra Señora de las Rocas es uno de los dos islotes frente a la costa de Perast en la bahía de Kotor, Montenegro (el otro es la isla Sveti Đorđe). Es una isla artificial creada por baluarte de rocas y por hundimiento de barcos viejos y apoderados cargados de rocas. La Iglesia Católica de Nuestra Señora de las Rocas es el edificio más grande del islote, y tiene un museo adjunto a ella. Según la leyenda, el islote fue hecho a lo largo de los siglos por marineros locales que mantuvieron un antiguo juramento después de encontrar el icono de Madonna y el Niño en la roca en el mar el 22 de julio de 1452. Al regresar de cada viaje exitoso, colocaron una roca en la bahía. Con el tiempo, el islote emergió gradualmente del mar. La costumbre de tirar piedras al mar está viva aún hoy en día. Cada año, al atardecer del 22 de julio, se celebra un evento llamado fašinada en dialecto local, cuando los residentes locales toman sus barcos y arrojan piedras al mar, ampliando la superficie de la isla. La iglesia fue renovada en 1722
Situada a pocos kilómetros al noroeste de Kotor se encuentra el encantador casco antiguo de Perast, un sitio de la UNESCO que susurra historias melancólicas de días en que sus habitantes vivían en fastuosidad y esplendor, disfrutando de un reinado poderoso en general. Apodado uno de los lugares más hermosos de la Bahía de Kotor, Perast tiene un atractivo incontestable que es encantador para los huéspedes con su comportamiento antiguo. El casco antiguo está frente al mar, con vistas a dos islotes: San Jorge y Nuestra Señora de las Rocas, cada uno con sus respectivas capillas agraciadas. Las bellezas contrastantes de la piedra vieja y el agua, los diálogos perpetuos de un pasado antiguo con la curiosidad del mundo de hoy son solo algunas de las muchas sensaciones que emite este escenario. Las cuevas de Spila, sobre Perast, son literalmente museos que albergan artefactos que hablan de la presencia de la cultura neolítica y cómo civilizaciones como los ilirios, romanos y cristianos primitivos poblaron esta área desde tiempos prehistóricos.
Kotor tiene más de dos mil años de antigüedad, y su nombre deriva de la palabra Dekatera (del griego antiguo katareo – que significa CALIENTE). Las fuentes escritas mencionan la "Ciudad Alta", que hacía referencia a la parte más antigua del alojamiento en la cima de la colina Sveti Ivan (San Iván) que se encuentra sobre Kotor, y la "Ciudad Baja", actual ciudad vieja Kotor. La rica historia de Kotor, es paralela a la rica cultura de la ciudad con la que gobernaron muchos conquistadores: los ilirios, los venecianos, los austriacos, los franceses... Primero la ciudad fue gobernada por los ilirios (siglos III y II a.C.). Por otro lado, los romanos son considerados los fundadores de Kotor 168 a.C. – 476 d.C. Kotor estuvo bajo su reinado hasta la ruptura del Imperio Romano en 476 d.C. bajo el nombre Akruvijum. Después de los romanos, hasta el año 1185 Kotor estuvo bajo el reinado de Bizancio. Bajo el reinado de Bizancio Kotor fue nombrado Dekaderon.

We really enjoyed the day trip. We bought the tickets from Bobana at our hotel. She was very helpful and knowledgeable. She gave us good advice about the trip.

Wonderful tour which visited Lady of the Rocks, Kotor Old Town and Perast with time for a swim in the sea. Our guide on the boat, Jakob, was extremely interesting and entertaining and made it a great experience. There was a welcome drink of rakija, freshly cooked small fish and olives, and watermelon included on board. The whole tour was well organised and punctual, and the journey back through a thunderstorm was as smooth as it could have been. The time at Lady of the Rock and Perast was just right however we would have liked a little longer in Kotor because once we’d walked part of the old walls and had a lovely lunch at La Piazzetta, we didn’t have time for anything else. But overall, a great day out and would recommend.
We had a wonderful time on this boat trip! Everything was well organized, and the atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable from start to finish. The views were beautiful, the boat was comfortable, and the crew was friendly and helpful throughout the day. We visited amazing places and created some great memories. Ignore the negative reviews about this company and excursion. From the moment we met Bobana at iberostar hercig novi to the excursion to kotor Petar were very friendly professional and polite. The taxi boat from the hotel to hercig novi was a brilliant all staff were helpful. Our guide on the boat to kotor was very informative and funny. Can't wait to see you all again. Dan and Yaz!!!

I had a really good time. The workers on the boat were kind and patient, and we enjoyed the whole trip, it was beautiful, and thanks to Jakov we laughed a lot. The food was nice, we even drank some Rakija 😝🤍 I recommend it to everyone basically, it doesnt matter if you go with family, friends or your partner, it is a beautiful memory. It is almost a day trip, so be prepared to bring some sun serum if you go in the summer. If you visit when its not that hot, than it will be a little windy on the boat. The boat was comfortable, we had enough space to sit, and it was really pretty, and perfectly cleaned.
Would highly recommend this trip, all three places were amazing. The scenery is absolutely stunning Lady of the Rocks and Perast are so beautiful and Kotor old town, wow!! Beautiful buildings everywhere. We were staying at Iberostar Waves, Herceg Novi and booked three trips through Bobana the Rep at our hotel, she was so helpful with lots of advice and information, telling us to take a jacket as since it’s April it will be cold to checking her weather app to see which of the days we had left would be best to do the Blue Cave tour. Jacob our guide on the Kotor tour was very funny and full of information, a great day out.
