We bikes to some incredible views! Plenty of pitstops made it feel easy.
Thank you for your kind feedback
The bike ride was excellent. Yohann that was a great guide. We felt safe the whole time. The ride was informative and pleasant. Thanks!!!
Many thanks... hope to see you on another one of our bike tours soon!
Excellent tour! I rented an ebike , and used the assist 1/2 the ride , going uphill in Holyrood Park and at the end of the tour, when tired. Johann was a great guide and clearly enjoys showing folks the cycle paths. He made an effort to connect with all participants, was polite, enthusiastic and professional. The ebike I used was in excellent condition. Highly recommend. Thank you, Johann !
I cannot say enough good things about our tour as well as our guide Johann. He went out of his way to pick us up and drop us off at our rental. Everything was meticulously planned. We worked around the drizzly weather and covered a lot of ground in Edinburgh. Highly, highly recommend.
What a great time we had on our tour of Edinburgh! I am particular about my bike tours as I am a certified cycling instructor and Johann did a great job. We were picked up at our hotel, very promptly, Johann greeted us in the lobby and loaded us up to roll. The bikes were in excellent condition and he adjusts each of them to fit perfectly. This is a big issue for me because I have a 34" inseam and sometimes the bike seats are just not high enough. The route was fun and informative, we got to see things we hadn't seen yet, enjoy the vistas, and we had bathroom breaks scheduled in. He provided panniers to carry gear, bottles of water, and helmets for those who needed them. It was a small group that made it even better navigating through the city. It was a lovely time!
Thank you! It is so nice of you to give such kind feedback of our bike tour operation. - especially from a fellow biker. It was great riding with you both. I hope to see you again soon.
This bike tour was the highlight of our trip to Scotland! We learned so much about Edinburgh and got to see far more of the city than we would have on our own. Johann was a fantastic guide, charismatic, knowledgeable, and full of great recommendations. He helped us plan the rest of our Scotland trip! Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Edinburgh.
We did our tour with Tartan Bicycle Company. The owner is the one that takes you out. He and his bikes were both excellent. Once you have seen Old and New town, it is great to see the outskirts from the mountain by the palace to the sea in Leith. You do bike for several hours so make sure you have some fitness, even though you do stop along the way many times for tour info and history.
We had a great time biking for a couple hours around the beautiful Edinburgh. The guide - Johann - was amazing! Highly recommend this bike tour!
Thank you so much for taking the time to review our bike tour. It was a pleasure showing you and your lovely family around Edinburgh!
Our family of four (me, my wife and our two daughters ages 18 and 20) booked the Sky to Sea manual tour for our first full day in Edinburgh hoping to enjoy a tour of the city and get some tips for other things to see and do while in Edinburgh and Scotland. Our guide, Johann from Tartan Bicycle Company, picked us up at our hotel which was a nice personal touch, and the tour exceeded our expectations. We've enjoyed several bike tours in other European cities and the Tartan Bikes were the best manual bikes we've used. The tour was the expected 5 hours in total from hotel pickup to finish and the mood and pace was very relaxed and friendly. Edinburgh is quite hilly so we had some moments of hard peddling but Johann didn't rush us and told us to walk our bikes if needed. The tour took us to several areas in the city including the sandy beachfront, a great view from the highest point in Edinburgh, Arthur's Seat, and several interesting landmarks and places of note in between. Johann also offered suggestions for restaurants and other places to visit during our visit, all of which have been great recommendations and thoughtfully answered all our questions. Getting a tour directly from the owner was a fantastic experience and we hope to visit again in the future for a Highlands tour. We highly recommend Sky to Seat tour with Tartan Bike Tours.
Thank you for your kind feedback. I'm happy you enjoyed your bike tour and rated my food and activity recommendations around Edinburgh. I hope to see you all again very soon!
The tour takes you from the hills all the way down to the sea, and it was brilliant. You cover so much ground and see parts of the city that just don't come up on a bus tour or a walking tour — felt like we got a really good look at Edinburgh rather than just the usual spots. Johann was great! Bikes were perfect. Would 100% recommend this to anyone visiting Edinburgh.
