Tour de café ATV en Antigua
Descripción
Durante este recorrido visitamos una plantación de café local ubicada en la cercana ciudad de Jocotenango. Desde la oficina, seguirá a un guía local en los vehículos todo terreno durante un viaje de aproximadamente 15 minutos hasta la plantación de café "La Azotea" ubicada en la ciudad de Jocotenango. Una vez en La Azotea, recibirá un recorrido bilingüe de la plantación donde podrá aprender y ver los diversos procesos de producción, elaboración y empaque del café que implica servir una buena taza de café. El recorrido del café en la plantación dura aproximadamente 1 hora una vez terminado, caminará por la plantación con el guía local para ver las plantas y también podrá tomar una bebida o un refrigerio. Una vez que haya terminado en la plantación, volverá a subirse a los vehículos todo terreno y se dirigirá a "El Cerro de la Cruz" para visitar uno de los lugares más conocidos y visitados de Antigua. Después de tener una vista de pájaro de cerca de la ciudad colonial, nos subimos a los vehículos y regresamos a nuestra oficina.

Una vez en La Azotea recibirás un recorrido bilingüe en profundidad del guía de plantaciones, podrás ver varios procesos de producción, elaboración y envasado de café que se destinan a servir una buena taza de JOE. El tour de café dura aproximadamente 1 hora una vez terminado caminará con nuestro guía local.
Una vez terminado en la plantación, subirá de nuevo a los vehículos todoterreno y se dirigirá a "El Cerro de la Cruz" para visitar uno de los lugares más conocidos y visitados de Antiguas. Llegar aquí es más fácil que dar los cientos de pasos, y disfrutamos de una vista de pájaro de la ciudad colonial.

I was so nervous at the beginning of this tour as I’ve never driven an ATV. Alex was our guide. He showed us how to use the machines, which are automatic so pretty easy to understand. He was so careful to make sure that there was plenty of time for us to cross streets as a group so no one was left behind. He was extremely knowledgeable about the history of both the coffee farm and Cerro de la Cruz. Overall a fantastic experience that I would definitely do again.

What an incredible experience! The ATV tour out to the coffee fields was one of the highlights of our trip to Antigua. There's something special about getting off the beaten path and riding through the gorgeous Guatemalan landscape — the views alone were worth it. The tour was well organized, the guide was knowledgeable and fun, and we learned so much about the coffee-growing process, from plant to cup. Seeing the fields up close and understanding the care that goes into every bean gave us a whole new appreciation for Guatemalan coffee. Whether you're a coffee lover or just looking for a fun adventure, this tour delivers on both. The Antigua ATV Coffee Tour was brilliant from start to finish. Erick really made the day, his passion for Antigua and coffee is infectious, and his coffee addiction actually adds to the fun because he knows the subject inside out. He’s honest, easy to talk to, and has a great way of bringing together mixed groups so everyone feels involved. On top of that, he takes fantastic photos, which means you come away with memories that look as good as they felt. Between the ride up to Cerro de la Cruz, the coffee and chocolate tasting, and Erick’s energy, this was one of the highlights of my limited time in Antigua.

We did this ATV coffee tour the day after we did the ATV sunset tour in Antigua by the same tour agency - Simoon Rentals and Tours. We could not have asked for a better guide who was so knowledgeable and gave us a full rundown on the coffee making process at the coffee farm Finca La Azotea which was in a beautiful setting in Jocotenango, a town just north of Antigua. Initially after visiting the historic coffee farm we were supposed to go to Cerro de La Cruz but we had already covered that during the sunset tour the previous day, so Daryl was kind enough to instead take us to a busy plaza in San Pedro Las Huertas where we could see a cool communal washing station where people would gather to wash clothes together and trade gossip and we also got to understand the process of mining, refining, and designing jade at a nearby family-run jade shop that is 3 generations strong. The pieces were so beautiful and learning about the jade-making process was so informative that we were happy to support them by buying a few pieces from them and their prices are more than fair and don’t overpriced! The shop is named king brothers jades Munro Maya. If you decide to take this your will not regret your time and money spent and I would highly recommend asking for Daryl to be your tour guide as he’s very kind, informative and speaks English very well :)

Thanks for the recommendation and review, We appreciate your trust and loyalty in choosing us for the second time and taking a tour with us,wich was a coffee tour ,From the moment we introduced you to our guide Daryl,with his charisma and kindness he took care of giving you all the instructions for the atv and begging the adventure and taking you to Finca la Azotea farm,where from beginning to end you learned about the coffee harvesting process and how to differentiate a good bean from a bad one, and how different trees produce beans that are more bitter than others over the year,You also had a coffee and chocolate tasting, at the end of the farm visit, having already seen the Cerro de la Cruz Daryl arranged to take you to another town outside the tour so you could continue the adventure,You Visited the small town of San Juan del Obispo where you explored the small plaza and the communal fountain, You also visited a small family workshop that makes jade and learned about its history finding unique pieces at a good price and taking home a beautiful souvenier of your visit to Guatemala
