Itinerario

While the staff was friendly, this was unfortunately a very disappointing experience and not what was advertised. We arrived ~30 minutes after the listed start time, but were told we would still have enough time for the full tour. From there, it was a disaster. The instruction on how to use the Vespa was extremely rushed, which already set the tone for the day. The first recommended stop came less than an hour in, after a short ferry ride. We weren’t ready to stop yet, but went along — only to find unfriendly service, where the server actually told us “no, you stay, don’t worry you won’t be late for your lunch,” and wouldn’t bring us the check, essentially pressuring us to spend more time and money. This ended up being the only planned stop we made all day, because the rest of the time was spent stuck in traffic. The app used for navigation does not account for traffic at all. On our ride back, we sat in traffic for 3 hours to go just 20 miles. Out of the 10 recommended stops, we only managed to complete 1. When we mentioned this to the staff upon return, he simply said “yes, Sunday” — yet no one warned us ahead of time that Sunday traffic would make this tour practically impossible. Additionally, the tour is advertised as 8–9 hours, but that’s misleading. The start time says 9:30, and the staff told us he closes between 4:30–5. That’s 7–7.5 hours at best. On top of that, the app drains your phone battery very quickly. We weren’t warned to bring a charger, and the shop only had one outdated lightning cable (which didn’t even work!). We spent most of the ride home panicking our phones would die and we’d be stranded, relying on downloaded offline maps in airplane mode just to make it back. Overall, this was a stressful and disappointing day. We missed 80% of the stops, spent hours in traffic, and worried about our phones dying the entire time. If you are considering this tour, do NOT do it on a weekend, and be prepared with your own charger and backup navigation. Unfortunately, this was not the fun, carefree Vespa experience we hoped for. For context, we did this tour from Salo on a Sunday in late September.
Dear Dana, Thank you very much for taking the time to share such a detailed review. We are truly sorry that circumstances did not allow you to fully enjoy your Garda Vespa Tour. This tour is very popular with our guests and consistently receives excellent feedback, so we regret that your experience did not meet expectations. Normally, in situations like this, we always find a way to reach common ground with our clients, offering a gift, discount, or other compensation. At the same time, your review contains some inaccuracies as well as references to circumstances beyond our control. First, we continually remind our guests that the tour schedule is very important and should not be neglected. The official start time for your tour was 9:30, but according to our booking system the scooter rental began closer to 11:00. Our manager tried to issue the scooter as quickly as possible so you could still complete the route, which is why the briefing was given at a faster pace. Please note that the content of the safety and scooter-use briefing is always the same for every client, and as described in the tour information, we can only accept riders with prior experience. Regarding the restaurant: it is a highly regarded family-run place, with very fair prices and authentic local cuisine. It is difficult to imagine that the staff pressured you to “spend more money.” In most Italian restaurants (outside of luxury or tourist-oriented venues), it is common for guests to go directly to the counter to pay rather than receiving the bill at the table. This is simply part of authentic Italian dining, and we include only authentic venues in our itineraries. As for navigation: yes, the app does not account for traffic conditions. It is a professional tool designed for tour operators, who take full responsibility for the suggested routes. Unfortunately, no operator can control traffic or accidents. On that day there was a traffic jam caused not just by Sunday travel but by an accident. As you may have noticed, our routes use secondary roads wherever possible to minimize congestion, but along some stretches of the lake there are no alternatives. We would also like to clarify that our offices remain open until 19:00, which allows ample time to complete the itinerary, even if there is a delay or unexpected traffic. Regarding phone charging: a power bank is not required. Each of our scooters is equipped with two USB ports for charging devices, and the app can also be downloaded to more than one phone for convenience. We sincerely invite you to join us again, and to help smooth out the negative impression we would be happy to offer you or your friends a 50% discount on your next tour. With kind regards, The Motoragazzi Team
This review is based solely on personal experience and therefore reflects only personal opinions. On our holiday at Lake Garda, we borrowed two scooters for a day to get around. At Lake Garda there are of course many stations where you can rent scooters. I can highly recommend this one in Saló. It definitely has the best prices and it is as straightforward as possible. You are warmly welcomed and treated like this. The rental runs without big problems and very straightforward, you get several tips on where to find what and what things you can drive to enjoy beautiful places and views. The return of the scooter is also straightforward and very, very fast. You get here incl. a helmet and do not have to pay an extra fee, as for example with others. It is also practical that there is a gas station about 5-10 meters before the rental, so you can also refuel quickly there and drop off bang. Should we be at Lake Garda again, we will also only go there for rental. Travel and experience adventures 🤙🏼
What a great experience! Lores is awesome, knowledgeable and very friendly! The self guided tours are easy and fun, taking you off the beaten path.
We booked a one-day rental and chose the mountain tour (no question, download the app and pay for one of the tours). All we have to say is WOW. This made our entire trip and we’ll be talking about it for years to come. We had such a great time that we did another day rental and did the full lake tour. We can’t decide which was better—aka: do both if you have time for it. Bring a rain jacket even if there is no rain in the forecast. We had Lores helping us and he was kind and had extra tips that took our time on the Vespa to the next level. I’d recommend this to anyone and everyone.
The scooters are good, new and neat. The tour via the app is well put together. In short: definitely recommended! Loris, the manager in Salo is a nice, laid back man, very nice to get along with and he speaks English.
We rented 2 Vespas and 1 Brera for 2 days and 1 tour around Lake Garda. Smooth rental, thanks to Motoragazzi. Next time 5-7 days. It was a very nice experience. We can only recommend it 🇮🇹 🛵
We are repeat offenders. We rented a Vespa from Motoragazzi for a day last year. Because of this wonderful experience, we rented a Vespa 125 for 5 days this year. Complete flexibility to visit the places you've always wanted to see. Traffic jams are no longer an issue when you make the most of the advantages of a two-wheeler in true "Italian" style. It was great fun again. We'll be back next year.
The Weather Wasn't the Best, but the Processing Offered Was. Friendly and friendly the owner. We used a 125 scooter which satisfied us completely. We made the road to the gorge and arrived in Limone sul Garda. It's okay. Thank you.
This summer a Vespa 300cc rented at Motoragazzi in Toscolano Maderno. The communication in advance was very good. Friendly man at pick up Vespa. Beautiful drive around Lake Garda via DGtalguide on smartphone. Certainly the route through the mountain roads was great with fantastic views! Overall it was a great day. Thanks Motoragazzi!
