La ciudad antigua de Éfeso es una de las ciudades romanas mejor conservadas del mundo; donde visitan la mayoría de los huéspedes de cruceros; fue la capital de Asia Menor; el centro comercial más importante de Anatolia occidental; una de las siete iglesias del cristianismo en Asia Menor; la ciudad donde predicó San Pablo y fue mencionada varias veces en el Nuevo Testamento.
Es el lugar donde María Santísima pudo haber pasado sus últimos días. Se estima que María llegó a la zona junto con San Juan quien pasó varios años en Éfeso para difundir el cristianismo. Aquí aún se encuentra activo para el culto donde fue declarado como santuario para los cristianos. Los tres Papas visitaron aquí: Pablo VI en 1967, Juan II en 1979 y finalmente Benedicto XVI en 2006.

This was a private tour for us and we enjoyed it. Our guide was so good. I’m happy with all but the mandatory “sales” stops. We saw beautiful things in the pottery, leather and carpet shops but I wasn’t a fan on the sales pressure.

Pick up was smooth. She had arranged a driver who stayed with us the whole time. We saw the home of Mary, Temple of Artemis, historic ruins of amphitheater and bath houses. Eda was very informative. Her knowledge of the history and explanations were enlightening. Thank you!

Taylan was our amazing tour guide and . Resit was our driver extraordinaire. Taylan was knowledgeable and courteous. One of the best excursions we’ve done. The city of Ephesus is a hidden gem - you will be able to actually walk through the ruins, and touch the pillars, stones, walls etc unlike many archeological sites you may visit. The Virgin Mary’s home was another highlight and the grounds around are breathtaking. Our guide Berkay was amazing! All the info, history and sites he described in a very interesting and engaging way… we were able to hear the history, then experience the various sites we went to. Highly recommend this tour. The Turkish rug making stop was interesting, but do be prepared for the sales pitch - again small thing, but something to note.
