We went to Rosslyn, Melrose, Dryburgh and Abbotsford in a day trip. Stuart was an excellent guide. He was informative, knowledgeable, entertaining, but low key. We had a lovely experience at each of the stops, and he added in a couple of extra short stops at view points. He had a good trip plan and kept us to a workable schedule in a low key way, but was flexible in response to our interests. He was knowledgeable at each stop and had information on where access might be limited due to restoration works. He did research on the fly (on his phone) when we asked oddball questions. He also provided us interesting background on Scottish culture and politics, which we were interested in. It was a very comfortable ride and we felt well taken care of. We've done only four private tours in the past in different countries, and this was the best of the four. Worth the price.
Thank you so much for sharing such thoughtful feedback — it means a lot to hear how much you enjoyed the day with Stuart. We love that his mix of knowledge, curiosity, and easygoing style made the tour stand out as one of your best experiences!
I really enjoyed this trip. Rosslyn Chapel is a must see. Our driver Tam was very knowledgeable and he was always on time on both our trips with him.
Thank you for your kind words! We’re so glad you enjoyed visiting Rosslyn Chapel and that Tam made the day both smooth and informative.
Our guide Sean was fantastic. He was a wealth of information and added so much to our experience. Rosslyn Chapel is fascinating and shouldn't be missed. Melrose is a quaint town and we had a great lunch at Burts. Touring Sir Walter Scott's home. Abbotsford was a wonderful experience. The countryside was breathtaking even though the day was very rainy with high winds. Dryburgh Abbey was closed due to the high winds, which was unfortunate, but we still had a stellar day. Highly recommend this tour and Sean.
We had a fantastic tour with Stuart to Melrose Abbey, Rosslyn Chapel, Abbotsford (Sir Walter Scott’s home), and Dryburgh Abbey as scheduled sites. He then took the time to add multiple additional sites that he thought might interest us—and they did! He took care to ensure the tour was comfortable and well paced and that we had sufficient time at each site. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in Scotland and Scottish history.

Dear Beryl, Thank you. I very much enjoyed my short visit to Edinburgh, Rosslyn Chapel and surrounds. Stuart was the perfect host and could not have done more to ensure I got to see and do as much in the short timeframe, which of course was way too short! Stuart was a delightful host, full of local and international knowledge and I enjoyed our chats. He was even sought after for a few photos by others as he was wearing his kilt! As Stuart said, I will have to 'hasty back' however Isle of Skye draws me for the moment. Thank you once again for organising a short and memorable day in Edinburgh. Kind regards, Miriam.
Dear Miriam, Thank you so much for your kind words and for choosing us as your host during your visit to Edinburgh, Rosslyn Chapel, and the surrounding areas. I'm thrilled to hear that you had a fantastic time with Stuart and that he was able to ensure you got to see and do as much as possible, despite the short timeframe. I'm glad you enjoyed your chats and found his local and international knowledge helpful. He just loves to share stories and information with clients. Ah, the kilt! It always attracts attention, doesn't it? Didn't realise he had taken a sideline in being a photo model! ;)) As we said, Edinburgh is a place that calls people back, and I'm glad it left a lasting impression on you. The Isle of Skye was undoubtedly a breathtaking destination, thank you for sharing your photos with me afterwards! Always enjoy seeing its beauty! Thank you once again for choosing us as your tour operator and for your kind words. It was our pleasure to organise a short and memorable day for you in Edinburgh. If you ever find yourself back in Scotland, we would be more than happy to show you more of this amazing country. Kind regards, Beryl & the TRIPorganiser family
This was such a fun experience! I didn't realize that we would be visiting Sir Walter Scott's house Abbotsford in between the chapel and the abbey, but that ended up being the best part!
Hello Anthony, that is so lovely to hear. And glad Sean was able to surprise you with this gem! We absolutely love Abbotsford too. Have a lovely onward stay in Scotland Beryl & Sean
Sean led a wonderful tour to the Borders yesterday. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating.
Hello S So nice to read your review - and thank you so much. Sean really enjoyed the day with you. And I enjoyed seeing the pictures... He really loved to veer off a bit and follow your ancestry's steps!!! Beryl
We had such a wonderful day exploring! Sean was an amazing guide. He took us to some out of the way places that weren't on the plan when he saw I was a photographer. I can not say enough about how wonderful he was. We even stopped at a old bridge to take some pictures.
Awww - thank you for your kind words. Sean had an awesome time with you guys too. Hoping to see you in Scotland again soon! Beryl
The Chapel is fantastic and the Bible through masonry is just incredible, you could spend all day looking at the workmanship of days gone past, there is a lovely feel in the Chapel and well worth a visit, I highly recommend it, and the ruins of the Castle are well, just ruins but the view of the gully below is really cool
We’re so glad that you enjoyed your visit and we could be part of your lovely day.
