I booked this after the direct tickets had sold out. We are not to keen on organised group tours, but Stephen was very interesting and shared histories and stories as we walk around the hill, so much better than the audio tour inside the castle. A really enjoyable visit.
Stephen, originally from America, was our Guide. He was brilliant, knowledgeable and inspiring. The whole castle, the stories and especially the inside view of the castle was fantastic. As the Guided Tour was moving forward the beautiful views of the castle and the gradual unfoldment both the history, connected mythology, outside and inside views of the castle was really astonishing again and again! King Ludwig II. - seems to me, - he must have been a very special, contradictory, visionary, inspired, introverted, intuitive, sensitive, excentric and more and more withdrawn personality. What he created that remains for centuries. All in all the whole trip was very inspiring! It was a lifetime experience for me! I am already planning to return!

We had a lovely day exploring the grounds, interior and history of Neuschwanstein castle. The audio tour was very helpful as we moved from room to room. The whole experience is well organised and good for audiences young and old. Steven was our excellent tour guide and he was very knowledgeable, friendly, lively and funny. He prepared us for what was next and gave us clear time limits. His many stories enriched our appreciation of the interior. The donut at the end was a lovely surprise, thank you!
Such a good tour. Stephen Wendell had good stories and history and prepared us well for the castle audio tour. Timon was perfect and not rushed. We got all of the good views and he took care of every detail, from getting the good views, to a little donut treat and a horse drawn carriage ride.
