Sierra Nevada es un macizo rocoso que forma una unidad geográfica claramente distinta. Se encuentra al sureste de la ciudad de Granada y se extiende a lo largo del extremo occidental de Almería. Ofrece un fuerte contraste entre el suave relieve de los montículos a otras áreas más rugosas. Los picos más altos de la Península se pueden encontrar en esta Reserva: Mulhacen (3.482 metros) y Veleta (3.392 metros). Las principales comunidades de plantas salpicadas sobre este macizo rocoso son los encinares, bosques caducifolios, castaños y robles Melojo, bosques de alta montaña y matorrales acolchados en las cumbres más altas, donde las especies forman un colchón para protegerse de las temperaturas invernales y vientos helados. En cuanto a la fauna, hay invertebrados que son exclusivos de este macizo, incluidas más de 20 especies de mariposas. En el camino de regreso al hotel, tendrá la oportunidad de probar un menú local de tapas.

We had a great time. Our tour guide Michael was the best. Very knowledgeable and attentive to our needs. We were able to customize our experience to our liking. Would highly recommend to others.
One day trip to the Alpujarras. Very well organized. The guide, DANTE, very pleasant and friendly. Very timely scheduled visits and stops. The tasting of typical products is very good. The restaurant where we ate was also very good, although the menu could be improved. In short, outstanding for GRANAVISION and for the guide: DANTE. Both are totally recommended.

Nice trip and super guide, but the visit in the allmost closed ski-resort was Wast of time. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
<p>Having been unable to get tickets for the Alhambra we decided we would like to get out of the city and head for the hills! This was an excellent trip up to Sierra Nevada which still had some snow on the tops. The ski season is finished so the area was very quiet. OUr guides were excellent and very knowledgeable about the area and its history. Not a full day but we were back in time for a siesta and then to see some more of Granada.</p>
<p>If you want to see the Sierra Nevada mountains this was a very enjoyable way to experience it. Michael our tour guide was terrific, the views were spectacular and it was nice to have the flexibility of being on a private tour. When we showed up to meet Michael he was already there and the vehicle you provided was very comfortable. It truly was a memorable tour.</p>

A nice drive up into the mountains, but the main 'destination' to explore when we left the vehicle was a closed ski resort. The alternative 'mountain' excursion from Granada, to Las Alpujarras, may have more interesting stop-offs with picturesque villages to explore?
