La Población de Colchani es una pequeña comunidad ubicada a orillas del Salar de Uyuni en Bolivia, donde los lugareños se dedican a la explotación de la sal y la creación de artesanías. En este pueblo, podrás ver cómo los habitantes toman parte de la sal extraída del salar y la utilizan para crear hermosas y originales artesanías. La creatividad y habilidad de los artesanos de Colchani es realmente impresionante. Entre las artesanías que se pueden encontrar están portaretratos, joyeros, animales típicos de la región y otros accesorios hechos con la sal y decorados con elementos de la cultura andina. Este lugar es considerado el desierto de sal más grande del mundo y te sorprenderá con su belleza. Conocerás un paisaje único, rodeado de montañas y volcanes de hasta 5000 metros de altura. A medida que recorras este lugar, podrás apreciar impresionantes ilusiones ópticas que se acentúan durante la época de lluvias. Además, encontrarás los "Ojos de Agua", pequeñas erupciones de sal que te ayudarán a conocer el proceso de formación de este infinito mar de sal. Durante tu recorrido, visitarás el famoso "Hotel de Sal", el primero de su género, que en la actualidad funciona como museo. Este hotel es totalmente construido de sal, desde sus paredes hasta sus muebles y techo. Además, tendrás la oportunidad de tomar fotos en perspectiva en la inmensidad del Salar, ¡una experiencia que no podrás olvidar!
Una parada imprescindible en nuestro tour del Salar de Uyuni es la Isla Incahuasi, también conocida como la "Isla de los Cactus". Esta isla se encuentra en el centro del salar y está rodeada por una vista panorámica impresionante del paisaje. Aquí, tendrá la oportunidad de caminar entre enormes poblaciones de cactus gigantes que crecen en la isla y aprender sobre la flora y fauna de la región. Después de un día de exploración del Salar de Uyuni, regresaremos a Uyuni alrededor de las 17:00 pm. Le brindamos el traslado desde el aeropuerto o la terminal de ómnibus hasta el centro de la ciudad para que pueda disfrutar de un agradable paseo o un desayuno a su gusto antes de comenzar el tour (aproximadamente a las 10:30 hs.). Tenga en cuenta que no ofrecemos recogida de pasajeros fuera de la ciudad de Uyuni, pero pueden solicitar su traslado antes del inicio del tour. ¡Disfrute de su tiempo en la hermosa ciudad de Uyuni antes de embarcarse en esta aventura emocionante!

The place as such is amazing, I recommend arriving in Uyuni and hiring directly there the guided tour with local driver who knows the area well, a day is more than enough to do: water eyes, salt, mirror experience, see sunset. Ask for Alex Clash! The best guide. Hiring there directly avoids surcharges by third companies like Viator, and two more locals!
I didn’t take the tour service because when I got to the address indicated (Av Ferroviaria, Uyuni, Bolivia, Uyuni, BO, 0510), I didn’t find the agency. Asking the agencies around they didn't recognize the Intiraymi agency expeditions either. Also, given the urgency because the tour was about to start, I contacted them at the number you provide in the reservation information, but I did not get a response. Since it was already 10:30 am (start time of the Uyuni salt tours) and I had no response from the agency side after calling them multiple times, I had to look for another agency, being forced to make another additional expense, since I have my ticket purchased Uyuni - La Paz for today and it was not a possibility to stay another day here. Being 10:35 my name is the agency, however, I had already purchased another tour service and was already on my way. From the details, please request the refund, as I did not take the service for lack of commitment by the agency, which never contacted me until after 10:35 when I had already purchased another service.
Several companies also offer this. They all cover the Rail Graveyard, the Museum, Salt flats and sculptures, together with the meal on the salt flats and the extensive photo session. It is cheaper to book it at Uyuni. The company I first booked with failed to turn up and I had to book it again. It is a brilliant tour, after the lake Titicaca Tour, the best I booked in Bolivia. PS Overnight buses to Uyuni can be freezing.
You could get tour guides at Uyuni much cheaper. Schedule when you arrive there, not here. Also at Uyuni you will have a lot of choices
The visit was wonderful, our driver and guide the friend Bernardo was very knowledgeable not only about the salt flat but also Bolivian stories and legends, made the whole trip by car very enjoyable. The food is very rich and balanced, and we end the day with a good Tarija wine. Friend Bernardo was very patient and friendly for the photos and tour in the salt flat. He left us at the Hotel at the end of Tour as taking pictures of the sunset ran late, and yet he waited for us.
Excellent experience. Very punctual and helpful. We had lunch locally on Incahuasi Island after visiting the train cemetery and a local salt factory where we learned about the history and customs of the locals. In the afternoon we visited several points in the salt flat, ideal for portraying unforgettable memories. At the end we toast with the other passengers and the Local Guide contemplating a beautiful sunset in the mirrored salt flat. A unique experience.
The best tour I've ever done!! Guide very friendly and attentive! It gave us an amazing experience! Surprised us from beginning to end!
Lovely tour. The driver did not speak English but showed us many exciting spots on the way and made very creative photos of us. He also offered a bottle of wine and snacks at sunset. He brought us to a spot with the best mirror effect.
I booked a private tour to salar , they came on time but the guide (Cristian )and the driver (Fernando ) wasn’t professional ( or they dont work good ) First they didnt took us to the lake were we must wearing boots and when i contacted the tour provider they said there were no lake (just lying) , second the let us take our lunch on the land and even on the salar They didnt wait until the sunset to take pictures, just when it comes at 7:00 pm they directly told us “ lets go “ The driver was sleeping when he was driving back .
