We really enjoyed our trip. Thankyou to guide Juan and driver Palagio. I had been anxious about safety, altitude and cold prior to the trip after reading other reviews. I found the off road driving through difficult conditions by Palagio to be excellent, he was friendly and courteous. I felt very safe. Juan was a good communicator, helpful and kind. We missed the last day into Chile due to snow and had to back track to Uyuni. The agency and Juan helped us with a bus ticket via an alternative ( Avaroa ) border. There was was no refund for missing the last day and we found out the border had been closed for several days but we were only notified a day before with no ability to cancel at that stage. The accommodation out on tour was clean, food good. but very cold with no hot water ( despite it being promised ).
We had a brilliant tour with Eduardo, who was an excellent guide. He was warm, welcoming, very informative and really made sure we had a great time on our tour. Highly recommend!
A very nice experience! Good info on the spot, everything is done to get comfort and the experience as optimal as possible! Not an easy situation due to gasoline shortage!!! Still, they did everything they could to complete the program! 👏
Marco drove/ led us over 3 days across the salt flats and the mountains. He knew his stuff, explained what was going on, and was always ready to point things out. Travelling over Bolivian Independence Day he even put on a small celebration for us. A wonderful guide around an amazing place.
This was an absolutely stunning 3 days. Don’t be fooled into thinking you’ll only see the salt flats - you’ll also see volcanoes, geysers, colourful lagoons with flamingos, hot springs, extreme deserts, wild llamas and other wildlife…it’s pretty spectacular. Temperatures are very mixed but prepare for extreme conditions towards the end of the trip and VERY cold nights. The only minor criticism I have is it would have been appreciated if both guide and driver had made the small effort to learn how to say my name.
The tour was perfectly organized from the very beginning. Our guide Marco did a super job in every respect as a driver, as a guide, and as a person. We recommend this tour with Marco to everyone who wants to experience something unforgettable. It was partly very cold, the roads bumpy, but what you get to see and experience in return is definitely worth it.
Unfortunately, our 3-day/2-night Uyuni tour was quite disappointing overall. The places we visited were absolutely beautiful, and the landscapes were definitely the highlight of the experience. However, the organization and the way the tour was conducted left a lot to be desired. Throughout the three days, we often felt rushed from one place to another. The guide seemed very focused on following his itinerary rather than checking in with the group or adapting the pace when needed. It sometimes felt like we were simply being moved from one stop to the next instead of actually having time to enjoy the experience. Transportation was probably our biggest concern. The vehicle we were travelling in had recurring battery/mechanical issues and stopped several times in the middle of the road. Our driver also regularly chose alternative routes instead of the usual roads, and some of them felt unnecessarily risky. When we mentioned our concerns to the guide, we were simply told that the driver could choose whichever roads he wanted. Several people in our vehicle genuinely felt unsafe at times, which is obviously not something you want to experience during a three-day tour in such a remote area. The accommodations are also extremely basic, which travelers should be aware of, especially during winter. There was no heating, and the rooms were incredibly cold and damp at night. Sleeping bags are offered for an additional rental fee, but considering the winter temperatures, I honestly think they should be included in the tour price. I cannot imagine doing this tour at that time of year without one. The food was good overall. Nothing particularly elaborate, but the meals were perfectly fine and we had no complaints in that regard. Another major disappointment was Laguna Negra. It was specifically mentioned in the TripAdvisor description when we booked the tour, and it was actually one of the places we were most excited to visit. However, we did not visit it at all. Our guide explained that tours no longer go there because of conflicts between local communities. We completely understand that circumstances can change, but if Laguna Negra is no longer part of the itinerary, the tour description should be updated accordingly. It was one of the main reasons we chose this particular tour, so finding this out only once we were already on the tour was frustrating. Overall, the landscapes and natural attractions were spectacular and made the trip worthwhile, but the experience itself did not meet our expectations. Between feeling rushed, the transportation and safety concerns, the extremely cold accommodations, and an advertised major stop being excluded from the itinerary, there are several aspects of this tour that could definitely be improved.
Great experience Landscapes, each more magnificent than the last. Between the desert, the animals, and the lagoons, it is a feast for the eyes.
What an unbelievable experience. Racquel was more than fantastic. Do this everyone. I have nothing less than “fantastic” to say about this whole experience
We just completed the private tour today. Our guide was Diego & our driver was Blas. Despite Diego had 2 years working experience, he demostrated his professional guide service. His fluent Engish, coupled with his profession knowledge, skillful photography & video shooting. He always look after us very well with caring. Driver Blas was an experience driver with good driving & parked at a stratigic locations so that we had the best locations to take photographs & videos. All in all, we treasured the tour and enjoyed the 3 days 2 nights journey !
