I would highly recommend this experience. Beth, the owner, made it extra special with her love of horses and sharing her passion and joys with us. We were the only two on the tour, which made it feel more intimate. We loved the horses, the beautiful trail ride, the lunch, and ending at the hot springs. Brian and Po from Chicago, IL
Had an awesome day riding the trails with our guide. Had an authentic lunch with the cowboys and their families. Ended at the hot spring and loved everything!
Beth and her cowboys did a great job taking us on a 2.5 hour trail ride through the Mexican countryside. We enjoyed the views and the experience riding the gentle horses. We had an authentic Mexican lunch with our hosts then relaxed at the thermal springs. All in all a great and unique experience!
This combo horseback riding - warm springs trip was terrific! We rode with escorts, including two Mexican cowboys, through the countryside outside of San Miguel de Allende, for 2 1/2 hours. The scenery was beautiful and the horses were easy to ride. My husband is an experienced rider and was able to ride faster and take small detours. I’m not experienced and very much enjoyed the easy pace. After the ride we had a home-cooked Mexican meal which was among the best food I ate while in San Miguel de Allende. Homemade tortillas, fresh veggies, agua fresca, chicken Milanese. It was so good! We then rode down to a warm springs location for a nice long soak. It was a great experience from beginning to end! Do it!
While riding the horses, I was amazed by the view as we rode. Really stunning. Highly recommended. TY
So much fun being free to gallop with personal attention from the cowboys! Very easy and fun to do from SMA!
This experience is fabulous! The scenery, the guide and co-owners, Beth, Catilano and Reyes, were exceptional. Ride through beautiful countryside, viewing mountains and canyons, breathtaking vistas. Then you get back to the ranch after a 6 mile trail ride, to a delicious homegrown and home cooked meal. They were more than happy to accommodate our vegetarian friend. Hard to say goodbye to new friends… but next came the hot springs portion of the day. Much needed for gringos after sitting a horse for a few hours!! Our day included the hot springs at Escondido - a beautiful tranquil experience on a Monday afternoon. I look forward to returning when the wildflowers are blooming. Our host, Beth, was delightful. Vaya con Dios, my friends.
What a superb day! The horseback riding through the countryside was beautiful and the cowboys gave us ample opportunity for me to trot and gallop past the cacti - so fun, while my husband stayed at a steady walk - his comfort zone! Lunch was authentic and delicious - we had built up an appetite and devoured the homemade tortillas and cheese. The watermelon juice was a perfect thirst quencher. Then on to the hot springs - perfect end to soak our bodies in the hot mineral water and receive wonderful back massages from the waterfalls. Beth and her team were so professional and wonderful. Take the day - get out of the city and enjoy this perfect day. Highly recommend!
We had a fantastic time riding horses! It’s great for mixed levels of riders. If you’d like to canter and gallop and have experience, there’s some super fun spots on the trail the super awesome cowboys can lead you to so you can have fun and speed! The horses are great and bomb proof! The lunch at the ranch was delicious and healthy. La Gruta spa is a great place to end your trip! Thoroughly relaxed after the fun ride!
We spent an excellent day with Beth and her comrades riding horses near San Miguel. We were picked up and transported to the ranch and met our 2 guides for the day. Beth gave us excellent instructions and we felt prepared and comfortable riding. We each had a lovely horse that was well trained and obedient. The trail ride was about 2.5 hours and we rode 6 miles! The path was rocky at times, winding up and down the hills and the horses commanded it like champs! We trotted several times and ended the ride through the river. After the ride we went back to the cowboy's house to enjoy a lovely homemade lunch by the local women. It included homemade tortillas and cheese, meatballs, rice and cooked vegetables. We also drank delicious fresh squeezed watermelon and pineapple juices. We left there and drove to La Gruta to enjoy a few hours in the thermal water. There were 3 pools with various temperatures. There was a cave that led to a very warm pool that felt like a sauna. The grounds and pools were well kept and wonderful. It was so relaxing to enjoy the pools to mend our stiff joints after our ride. There were drinks and food available for purchase. It was a short 15 minute drive back to San Miguel's center from La Gruta. We loved our time with Beth and really enjoyed spending time with her and learning more about her transition to life abroad in San Miguel. Would highly recommend tour! We especially appreciated supporting the local cowboys and thought it was so awesome how Beth has built an incredible relationship with them. They have been working with Beth for 16 years and you could tell there was a mutual respect and appreciation between them.
