We booked a private “Old Quebec: Touch and Feel” walking tour with Tours Accolade, and it was one of the highlights of our visit to Quebec City. From the booking process onward, Xavier was friendly, responsive, and very accommodating. The two-hour tour is specifically designed for low vision visitors, and it is exceptionally well thought out. Xavier provides detailed historical and archaeological information, but what truly makes this tour special is how he engages all the senses to bring Old Quebec to life. This is not a typical walking tour. Xavier uses touch, sound, and spatial awareness to complement his explanations, making the experience immersive and accessible. He was completely “on point” and attentive for the entire tour. My wife has low vision and absolutely loved the experience. She found it extremely valuable and was genuinely grateful that a tour like this exists for low vision travelers. It allowed her to fully experience and connect with the city in a way that standard tours cannot. We highly recommend Xavier and the “Touch and Feel” tour to anyone with low vision visiting Quebec City—and to anyone who values inclusive, meaningful travel experiences.

If you have any ancestral connection to Quebec and New France, I highly recommend Tour Accolade to fill out details in your family tree and to take you to places relevant to our ancestors. I learned much about people that I have not yet found through Ancestry.com. I even had my photo taken in front on a statue in the city of two early ancestors. That never would have happened on my own. I’ve not encountered a format like this anywhere else that I have traveled. Worth every penny.
Nothing but wonderful things to say about Neil, our guide for a walking tour of historic Quebec City. Well versed in the wonderful history of the city, but knowledgeable about individual buildings, and places with historical significance. (ie: pointing to a nearby cannon - Why only these two colonial era cannons are cast with a Russian marque!) Highly recommended!
