Descripción
Un recorrido a pie por la ciudad que le presentará Podgorica, la capital de Montenegro, y su centro administrativo, cultural y económico. El área más amplia ha estado habitada desde la Edad de Piedra, pero su historia urbana comienza con la llegada de los romanos en el siglo II a.C. Que data del período de las guerras ilirias-romanas, Podgorica siempre estuvo en la encrucijada de viajeros griegos, legionarios romanos, mensajeros bizantinos, nobles serbios, comerciantes venecianos, invasores turcos, guerreros montenegrinos ... Más de 70 bombardeos en la Segunda Guerra Mundial han destruido muchos edificios y monumentos de los siglos anteriores. Durante nuestra caminata de 90 minutos, pasaremos por algunas de estas huellas restantes de los siglos anteriores, pero también veremos la forma en que la ciudad fue reconstruida durante el período comunista y en las décadas posteriores.

Itinerario
Nuestro punto de encuentro es en el centro de Podgorica - Plaza de la Independencia (antes Plaza de la República), en la fuente. En caso de lluvia, la guía será colocada por el Societe Generale Bank, bajo los aleros que rodean la plaza. Pasaremos por el edificio de la Municipalidad, deteniéndonos brevemente frente a la estatua de Marko Miljanov, uno de los famosos generales y escritores de finales del siglo XIX.
Desde la calle Bokeska, pasaremos por el Teatro Nacional y continuaremos hacia la estatua de Petar II Petrovic Njegos, un famoso príncipe-obispo, escritor y filósofo.
Continuamos nuestro viaje a través de uno de los puentes sobre el río Moraca, que fluye a través de Podgorica.
Nuestro recorrido nos lleva por el río Moraca, a través de uno de los puentes peatonales, y desde aquí tendremos una excelente vista del Puente del Milenio, uno de los hitos reconocibles de Podgorica.
También haremos una breve parada en la estatua de Vladimir Vysotsky, un poeta, cantante y compositor ruso que murió joven, pero que vivió en Podgorica por un tiempo.
Cruzaremos el río Moraca nuevamente, en el puente Blazo Jovanovic y continuaremos hacia Sastavci (o Skaline), en la confluencia de los ríos Ribnica y Moraca.
Sastavci o Skaline es un sitio muy pintoresco, pero hay que reconocerlo. Sobre la confluencia se alzan las ruinas apenas visibles de la fortaleza de Ribnica. Estos se conocen como graduación de Nemanjin, ya que fue aquí donde nació Stefan Nemanja, quien posteriormente fundó la dinastía Nemanjic. Cruzaremos un viejo y pintoresco puente de piedra en nuestro camino hacia Stara Varos, el barrio más antiguo de Podgorica, que se remonta a la regla otomana.
En Stara Varos nos detendremos brevemente en la mezquita Starodoganjska, construida en el siglo 15 y mantenida durante mucho tiempo por los comerciantes de las tiendas cercanas.
Sahat Kula (La Torre del Reloj) es uno de los hitos importantes de Podgorica. Se encuentra en el borde de Stara Varos, frente a los bloques de apartamentos socialistas al otro lado de la calle. Construido en el siglo XVIII por Adzi Pasha Osmanagic.
En nuestro camino de regreso, pasaremos por el monumento del Rey Nikola, un monumento ecuestre heroico bastante estándar, ubicado dentro del Parque del Rey. Fue erigido en 2006, en el Día de la Liberación de Podgorica en la Segunda Guerra Mundial, en una meseta frente al Parlamento nacional.
Ubicado en la esquina de la calle Njegoseva, retrata al famoso poeta ruso Pushkin leyendo poesía a su esposa Natalija Gonchareva. Luego de una breve parada para tomar fotos en este monumento, regresaremos a la Plaza de la Independencia.

- Este es un recorrido fácil a pie por la ciudad, pero Podgorica puede hacer mucho calor durante el verano y una pequeña parte del recorrido conduce a calles hechas de adoquines, por lo que se recomienda el calzado cómodo). El recorrido opera casi en todas las condiciones climáticas, vístete apropiadamente.

Our guide Slavko Gusak was absolutely incredible. His wealth of knowledge, use of the English language, and demeanor was excellent. He could answer all our questions with ease. We were in Podgorica for 1 day in transit and wanted to learn more about Montenegro unfortunately our tour was cancelled due to lack of numbers so we had the option of paying a little more for a private tour. Definitely worth it and glad this happened so we had our private tour. Our guide met us at our hotel and we took a leisurely walk into the city . Stopping to tell us about each area, history, culture along the way. We then asked for recommendation on where to eat and we had an amazing fresh fish brunch in a very tradition taverna. Our walking tour with Peter was the best we have done - after travelling to over 10 European cities together. We learned so much about Podgorica, from multiple different time periods. I had a great time walking the city with Ana. I have lived in Podgorica for 6 months and yet still discovered new things I had never seen. Ana gave such a rich history of the city and country.

Despite bad weather (rainy, windy, cold as for Podgorica ) my guide Diana made her best to show me around the city and important places! And told a lot of stories) She knows Russian well! Slavko gave us a great walking tour in the city of Podgorica. He started with the introduction that took us back thousands years ago and he explained the city history till today. We visited Podgorica this April and decided to book a tour at the last moment. It proved to be a good decision as we had an excellent local guide who took us around the town and told us the story of the city which we wouldn't be able to discover on our own. We got a recommendation for local pubs and restaurants. We also booked the same agency for their Kotor tour the next day and it was just as perfect.
