Andrew our tour guide was excellent. Besides a certified guided he is a credentialed archeologist. His encyclopedic knowledge was evident and it was delivered in excellent English (He speaks Arabic and Hebrew too). He was raised In Akko and one of his parent’s association goes back over 300 years. Highly recommended.
Thanks Philip! Say hi to Joe for me!
Andrew is an archeologist by profession, and a certified tour guide. He lives and works in Akko, and knows the ancient city, every building complex, wall, tunnel and stone, like an extension of his own home. He is young and enthusiastic, and illustrates the history of Akko with precision, a wealth of detailed knowledge, and a sense of humour. He makes it all come alive, from the Phoenicians and the Jews, Ancient Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Moslems, Crusaders, Mamluks, Ottomans, right up to modern Israel. We spent a very pleasant and fascinating four hours with Andrew.
Thanks Anne!!
We are very well travelled (Europe, Israel, Asia) and have had many tours. We have had tours and tour guides as good as Andrew, but none better. He made medieval (Crusader) and subsequent history come alive in a way that we could never have experienced on our own with a guide book. He is very warm and personable (and seems to know everyone in Akko whom he greeted in Hebrew, Arabic, and English). Highly recommended.
Thank you Rob!!
We had a great experience with Andrew touring the old city of Akko. Lots of history, geography and local/personal stories of the city. Andrew also accommodated the trip to keep children and adults engaged. We highly recommend this tour.
Thank you Boaz! I had lots of fun with you guys! Say hi to everyone for me
We had an incredible experience with our tour guide, Andrew, in Akko. As an authentic member of the local community, his deep connection to the history and people of the city made the experience far richer and more meaningful than a typical tour. Andrew brought the city to life through stories, context, and perspectives you simply wouldn’t get from a guidebook. His knowledge was impressive, and he was extremely flexible and thoughtful in accommodating a group with different interests. He intuitively adjusted the pace, knew when to dive deeper and when to keep things light, and did an amazing job engaging our family of two adults and three kids throughout the tour. We never felt rushed or overwhelmed, and every stop felt intentional. Andrew’s warmth, authenticity, and ability to connect history to everyday life made this a truly memorable experience. We highly recommend him to anyone seeking a personal, engaging, and insightful tour of Akko.
Thank you Nirit! Say hi to everyone for me!!
We had the best time with Andrew! The tour was fascinating and informative, covering loads of history, culture and personal stories. You could feel the undeniable passion he has for the town and being a tour guide. Asking for a culinary stop is worth it, as we enjoyed unique local dishes.
Thank you Miki! Say hi to everyone for me!
Andrew is a dynamo! With him you don’t just get a tour, you get an immersive experience into life in Acre, and an unbelievable sense of history and place that comes from his deep knowledge, lifelong connections, and clear passion for the work he does. I was a solo traveler and felt like I had a friend taking me around their hometown, but in Andrew’s case a friend who has significant archeological knowledge experience and passion as well as an ability to make information accessible and memorable. I wish him the very best in his important work to promote the history and archeology of the city, and hope everyone who visits can also see the city through his eyes like I did. Thank you.
Thank you for the beautiful review! I had a great and memorable time as well!
The tour with Andrew was unique! We have been to Acre in the past, yet Andrew took us to hidden niches, was super informative and had interesting stories to tell that made even the places we know seem new. He seems to know everybody in Acre and spiced the tour with personal stories. All along he was very attentive Excellent tour!
Thank you Tamar!
