We truly enjoyed Zel’s wonderful sense of humor and his expansive knowledge of history and religion.
This city is breathtaking and the history that lives in every step and stone is profound: I think Etai, our guide for the day embodied all of that. He has a wealth of knowledge, a shining smile, and a passion for bringing thousands of years of stories back to life. But he wasn’t stuffy or anything, in fact he was like completely opposite of that; he was super fun, excited to share interesting and relatable stories, willing to cater to our interests, AND maintain integrity and respect for all the different cultures and religions within the city. I would not have appreciated the significance and beauty of the city nearly as much, if we hadn’t had Etai to guide us. We wondered at first if it was worth the money, and I’m delighted to say that it was beyond worth it! It’s a once in a lifetime kind of place and doing a small private tour is one hundred and fifty percent the way to go— you will miss out on some spectacular stories and sites if you don’t. Also, I don’t know if you can request your guides (we just rolled the dice and ended up with probably the best of the best) and if you can, Etai is who you want!! Can’t recommend him enough!!
On behalf of Etai Elstein and the whole Israel Travel Company guide network I want to thank you for the sharing of your feelings about the value of a personally guided tour of Jerusalem .Thanks for your wonderfully positive feedback about Etai and his ability to significantly enhance your touring experience in Jerusalem. Best wishes Zel Lederman Israel Travel Company
Highly recommend doing a private guided tour of the Old City! Our guide Dvir was fantastic and took us off the crowded beaten path (while still showing us the must-see highlights). You miss so much when you're in a large group, and we were happy to be taken to quiet streets, secret rooftops, small shops, and delicious food while avoiding the large crowds but still feeling like we got the whole Old City experience with all the conversation, history, and context that we wanted. This is the way to do it!
Etai is an amazing tour guide! We spent 4 hours with him in old Jerusalem and his depth of knowledge is incredible. Highly recommend!!
Absolutely wonderful tour with Etai who was such a knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide and so generous with his time too. We learned so much on the trip and would highly recommend doing this tour as soon as you get to Jerusalem. It was the highlight of a great holiday to Israel
Zel is very knowledgeable and great in every way. Our family really enjoyed our tour of Jerusalem with him!
Zel and his team run an excellent Jerusalem private tour. He is VERY knowledgeable on a wide array of topics, including history of the city. Tours are fully customizable and we had a great time hanging out with Zel learning about the old city. In May 2022 my wife and I booked a private half day tour for my birthday. We had a great time! Hi
Hi Gabe Thanks very much for your generous review .I enjoyed exploring Jerusalem with you and Lauren .Warmest regards, Zel
When we booked our tour with Zel, I expected to learn bits and pieces about the Old City, but Zel gave us a comprehensive and detailed and professorial explanation of almost everything we looked and pointed at - from a specific gate, to the churches, to the walls, to the roads, to the altars in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and even to detailed explanations on how the six religions cooperate to administer the Church. As to the tour itself, Zel kept a brisk pace (we are walkers), but slowed down to offer many interesting tid-bits. And needless to say, Zel is a most cheerful guide and it seemed like every guide in the Old City greeted him by name and with a warm handshake. Great vibes all around ... highly recommended.
Dear Asya, Thanks so much for your generous review.I am glad you both enjoyed our half day together in Jerusalem. Best wishes Zel

Great tour of Jerusalem - a perfect overview for the first day of our first trip to Jerusalem. Zel was knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and tailored the tour to our interests. Highly recommend!

Zel did a marvelous job of explaining the history surrounding the sites in and around the Old City. He was pleasant and informative. We learned so much in a few hours and felt confident to visit again on our own.
