Plaza del ayuntamiento
Esta emblemática plaza más antigua de Copenhague (Mercado Viejo) Con Nytorv contigua forma un espacio común a lo largo de la calle peatonal Strøget. Si bien la plaza se remonta a la fundación de la ciudad en el siglo XII, la mayoría de sus edificios fueron construidos después del Gran Incendio de 1795 en estilo neoclásico. Otra característica dominante es Caritas Well, una fuente renacentista erigida por el rey Christian IV en 1610. También encontramos Nytorv (nueva plaza) Junto con el Gammeltorv contiguo, forma una gran plaza en la calle peatonal, dominada por la imponente fachada neoclásica del Palacio de Justicia de Copenhague, que desde 1815-1905 también sirvió como el Ayuntamiento.
La catedral de Copenhague, hoy diseñada por el arquitecto C.F. Hansen en estilo neoclasicista. La primera piedra fue colocada por el rey Federico VI en 1817, y la solemne consagración tuvo lugar el domingo 1829. Este sitio sirvió a una iglesia ya que el obispo Absalon, el fundador de Copenhague, construyó una pequeña capilla en las instalaciones. The tour was cancelled due to lack of people on it. I had this tour booked for me as a gift. The only reschedule date they were able to offer was 10 days later when I would no longer be in the country. When I requested a refund the voucher company and Scandinavian Guides sent me in circles blaming each other. Scandinavian Guides Luis Sosa was extremely rude and unprofessional during the process.

I was a part of a very large group from the United States touring both Copenhagen and Malmo, Sweden. Scandinavian Guides was responsible for both tours. They did a wonderful job with our group. Luis was the first to welcome us at the airport and also the tour guide for Copenhagen. He did a wonderful job accommodating everyone. He had a lot of historical knowledge, did a great job answering questions, showing points of interests, was professional and personable, and worked very hard to make sure everyone was well taken care of even going the extra mile!! Thank you so much for being so helpful! His tour also gave me the confidence to go sightseeing by myself the following day! We had a great experience in Malmo with another one of the guides as well. Wonderful 3-hour tour of Copenhagen! Luis was our guide. He has a very good knowledege of Danish history, of the town and how people live! Very good mix of information and fun!!!!

Luis (owner) was beyond condescending and his humor misogynistic, homophobic and utterly offensive. Our tour group "Women Traveling Together" was guided by Luis the owner in a half day tour of Copenhagen. Luis you're not funny. Comments about Cu&&$nts, gay people and your wife's role in the kitchen were offensive and unprofessional. And for goodness sakes..on and on about your family filling time when you knew less about the city architecture we walked thru. At the castle, you were confronted by castle staff and apparently had no business conducting that tour. Far from a local... born in Venezuela your knowledge of Denmark was limited. Clean up your act..can't believe these reviews...what a clown.
There was not a lot of background information, just enough. The guide was unfortunately not a local.

This tour was a great addition to our business trip to Denmark. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the area and knew a great deal of history of all the places we went to. We really got to see all of the key places you would want in Copenhagen and they answered all of our questions. This was the best spent 4 hours of the whole trip.
