We really enjoyed our tour with Gilles. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. I have seen negative reviews that said he was on his phone too much but I felt that his time on his phone was more about making sure we never felt like we were on his schedule. He had a tour in mind for us but also never wanted us to feel rushed or pressured. He wanted us to spent as much or as little time wandering as we wanted. He was always present both physically and mentally if we wanted to talk or learn about something but it never felt like he was hovering. He was very knowledgeable and shared lots of great information with us, as we are very interested in history. He really made sure we saw wha we wanted and he even ended up spending extra time touring with us. My older and less mobile parents were with us too and he was always very patient making arrangements so that they could do things at their pace while the rest of us did things faster. Over all, a wonderful tour
Hello Amanda, Thank you very much for your message. We are delighted that your experience with Gilles went so well and that you were able to discover our beautiful region in the most comfortable conditions possible. Indeed, our guides take great care to make each tour as smooth, relaxed, and enjoyable as possible. That’s why, during quieter moments, they may check their phones to ensure the itinerary is optimal, traffic is as light and stress-free as possible, and that our guests have the maximum amount of time to enjoy the activities. In any case, thank you again, Amanda. We hope to welcome you back very soon here in Provence 😀 See you again soon !
Our tour guide was amazing and showed us beautiful places. We travelled with a wheelchair and he made it seamlessly comfortable. Very knowledgeable.

Gille was terrific as a guide. Everything we saw was enjoyable and interesting. He recommended a very good restaurant for lunch. Very accommodating
Thank you very much for your very kind message. We are delighted that you enjoyed your day in our company. We hope to see you again in our beautiful region 🥰🤗
This tour was excellent and a must! Our tour guide Gilles was exceptional. Very well informed, friendly and patient. Traveling with 7 women who want to shop is not easy. He was 😊
An exceptional day with exceptional women in every way ! Laughter, emotion, good cheese and… suspense right until the end 😜 Thank you for everything !
Our booking said 8am…our guide’s booking said 9am. Apparently this was a third party booking. Our guide Gilles was a nice man, but he spent the entire tour on his phone. We had to ask questions because he was not informative. We spent a lot of time at a flea market. He was more of a driver than a guide. Disappointed.
Hello, First of all, we are sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations. However, a few of your comments have raised some concerns about the reliability of your account : 1. Under no circumstances was this tour (which always starts at 9 a.m. for practical reasons, since the shops in Aix do not open until 10 a.m.) conducted by anyone outside our team. Gilles, who is passionate about the history of our region and deeply dedicated to his work, is an integral part of our team and consistently provides excellent service. No one has ever complained about a lack of commitment on his part. 2. You did not visit a flea market at any point, but rather the artisanal market on the Cours Mirabeau in Aix-en-Provence. Those familiar with the city—and especially this avenue, the most elegant in the Provençal town—know very well that such confusion is impossible. This remark is therefore entirely misplaced, even absurd. 3. Gilles asked if you would like some free time to enjoy this lovely market, and the majority of the group agreed. During this free time, while the group was strolling or shopping, Gilles took the opportunity to call the Cassis Tourist Office, your next stop, to get information about traffic disruptions caused by a sporting event (a triathlon) and thus optimize your arrival in the seaside resort. Saying that he spent the entire visit on the phone is therefore false. He did spend about ten minutes on the phone (during your free time!), but it was for your benefit and to ensure the comfort of the tour. To conclude, Gilles did not have the impression that the majority of the group was disappointed by his service or by the tour in general—quite the opposite, judging by the enthusiasm and warm thanks expressed at the end of the day. No one has ever complained about his lack of commitment (see the latest review from October 24). It seems that you personally, Karen, were disappointed… Once again, we are sincerely sorry about that.
Our guide was friendly and knowlegable and gave us a great glimpse of Aix en Provence, Cassis and Marseille! We enjoyed it very much!
Hello, our entire team thanks you for this wonderful review. It means a lot to us and motivates us to keep doing great things. We look forward to seeing you again in our beautiful region. See you very soon 🤗
Our tour guides Sylvie and Michel were genuinely nice people and tried to give us a tour. The problem is that they both spoke Portuguese and only a few words of English. We went to many places but did not know what we were seeing, with the exception of 2 or 3 facts shown to us through Google translate. We did not learn and history, facts or information about this beautiful region. They picked us up late, were unable to locate where the van was parked in Provence and poor time management led to us missing the final 3 stops in Marseille. It was such a beautiful area and had the potential to be the highlight of our vacation. It is just unfortunate that we were given guides that were unable to communicate with us and give us the tour as promised.
We are astounded by this review, which we can only describe as ‘imaginary’, if not outright ‘slanderous’. Let’s go through it point by point : 1. We are not Portuguese at all and do not speak a single word of the language. 😳 2. We absolutely did not arrive late—we were actually there 42 minutes before you exited the boat. We have parking tickets to prove it (arrival at 8:55 AM). It was you who came out very late (9:37 AM), but of course, that is not your fault and we don’t hold you responsible for this delay. As a reminder, the meeting time was scheduled for 9:00 AM. At no point did we have to search for where our van was parked. 😳 3. For all the places we visited, we provided explanations in English as agreed, but you showed very little interest, appeared to be in a bad mood despite our kindness and small gestures (offering fruit and snacks), and you even often ignored us (except for your husband, who was receptive to our explanations). The most striking example was the beautiful Aix Cathedral, which you surprisingly refused to enter. 🤷🏻♀️ 4. The claim of poor time management is also pure fiction : we were in Marseille at 4:00 PM to visit Notre-Dame de la Garde, which you wanted to cut short—despite the beauty of the site—by asking us to take you back to the ship. We still had a good hour left to visit other spots in Marseille, but you declined. Once again, we have proof with photos taken at 4:07 PM at Notre-Dame de la Garde. Conclusion : Either you confused us with someone else or another tour entirely, or you deliberately decided to harm us with these fabrications, for reasons we truly cannot understand… In any case, if everything you wrote were true, then why did you leave us a $40 tip ? None of this makes any sense.
Nice trip overall, a good tour guide and a nice exploration for the 3 locations within the area. We were visiting on Sunday morning so it wasn’t crowded and too many shops were closed.
