Espera a nuestro guía en el lugar y hora acordados y permite que te acompañe durante este viaje en el tiempo, desde la entrada de la Ciudad Amurallada.
Camina por la plaza e iglesia de San Pedro Claver y observa las murallas bordeando el mar y los bastiones, como el de San Francisco o San Ignacio, que solían ser muy importantes en los siglos XVI y XVII para la defensa del territorio español de tropas enemigas.
También vas a visitar la Plaza de la Trinidad, Las bóvedas y otras iglesias como Santo Domingo y Santa Catalina de Alejandría.
Aprende y relaciona en la historia la transición de las comunidades indígenas libres y la colonización española al visitar el Museo del Oro Zenú, el lugar que reúne piezas precolombinas de orfebrería de una de las etnias más antiguas del país y, luego, el Palacio de la Inquisición, el Tribunal de Penas del Santo Oficio y símbolo de poder del catolicismo del siglo XVII.
Continua a través de calles angostas y entre casas coloniales y patrimoniales que te harán sentir congelado en el tiempo. Y llega al barrio Getsemaní para continuar conociendo la zona. Aquí puedes disfrutar nuestra gastronomía caribeña con algunos de los platos más tradicionales: por ejemplo, arepa de huevo, una tortilla crocante a base de maíz con huevo frito adentro, y raspao, un vaso de hielo rallado con jarabes frutales encima, ente otras opciones; experiencias culinarias con locales, para que veas tantos lados como sea posible de la mágica ciudad de Cartagena. Our tour guide was the kindest, most hospitable knowledgeable person I've met in a long time. He was patient, funny and kind. He took us to our the places we paid to see and explained in depth when we asked questions. I definitely recommend this company to all my family and friends that ever plan to go to Cartagena. By far the best experience I had abroad. Eddie was an amazing guide. He reached out to us the night before to see if we were ready for the tour and showed up 20 minutes earlier in the morning, to introduce himself, discuss the tour and to transport us from our hotel. From the moment the tour began, he passionately discussed the history of Cartagena, the intricacies of the architecture, the beauty of the local art and graffiti and explained how politics and religion had influenced the Walled city. As we walked through the city, we stopped for refreshments and spoke to locals who were extremely inviting and respectful. He also was kind enough to suggest best locations for us to take photos and recommendations for our evening excursions and dinner. We were actually sad that the tour had ended because he was such a pleasure to be with but we know we gained a friend and would highly recommend him, because of his professionalism, knowledge and his ambassadorship of the culture. 1. This tour is not in English. A few English words will be spoken, but we could not understand anything. I even confirmed after booking that it would be in English. 2. We booked a 5 hour tour with San Felipe Castle. We received a 4 hour tour, did not visit the Gold museum (no explanation on that). We did visit the Castle and some Plazas, and we visited a ton of street vendors … all selling plastic junk and friends of the guide. Overall really disappointing. We were really excited to see and learn the history of Cartagena, but between the street vendors and language barrier, we learned next to nothing.
We are truly sorry that the experience did not meet your expectations. Regarding your concerns, we take them very seriously. We have a strict policy that our guides should focus on sharing the history, culture, and heritage of the places visited. The tour should never be used as an opportunity to promote or make sales through street vendors. Alex did a great job on our walking tour! He is very knowledgeable. His passion & love for his country and culture really shine through. He was very patient with us when we wanted to stop to take photos or get a cup of coffee. The organizer was super, very responsive. Through WhatsApp, he was able to organize me a unique and private tour only of the fortress of San Felipe, with Alex a young guide really passionate, exciting, and very interesting. For San Felipe's visit, make it very, very early. Because it's extremely hot fast.
