Te invitamos a descubrir un pueblo que ha mantenido su marcada identidad por más de 400 años: el rinconcito de África en Colombia. Este es el tiempo que tardará en llegar de un lugar a otro Aprenderás la historia de los primeros pueblos libres de América. Conectarás con los ancestros y las raíces africanas de Palenque de Benkos Biohó (Fundador de Palenque). Disfruta del espectáculo de baile, aprende sus pasos de baile tradicionales y toca la batería. Aprende la lengua bantú de Guinea y Congo acompañado de un guía nativo. Haremos una parada en la plaza del pueblo, la casa de Kombilesa mi; el grupo de rap folclórico, la casa museo, el Palenque Viejo y la medicina tradicional. Al finalizar almorzaremos un delicioso plato típico Palenquero.

Lugares y horarios de recogida
La recogida de los huéspedes alojados en la ciudad amurallada es a las 8 : 00 am en la torre del reloj, los alojados en los barrios Bocagrande, Castillo Grande y laguito la recogida es entre las 8 : 20 am y 8 : 45 am, los clientes alojados en los barrios Marbella, Cabrero, Crespo y Cielo Mar o cualquier hotel del norte y manzana marina la recogida de 8 : 50 am a 9 : 30 am. Los clientes alojados en Manga deben llegar a las 8 am a la torre del reloj. Los clientes de hoteles ubicados en Manzanillo del Mar serán recogidos a las 8 : 30 am en un carro que los sacará del pueblo y los traerá a Cartagena para reunirse con ellos con el guía. No recogemos en hoteles ubicados en Barú o fuera de la ciudad de Cartagena.

I loved everything about this tour. From the history to the food, everything was amazing. If you’re thinking about booking this tour, do it !
This was a nice experience, from Romero our tour guide to the welcome dance from the Palenque residents to the lunch (so good!) I would say be sure to bring cash/pesos along with you to tip dancers or if you’re wanting to buy street drinks/food. We went to the city’s wellness center which was really nice except when it came time for a ritual on bracelets (I’m a Christian and chose not to partake) but other than that the people there and the culture/experience was really nice
This is a must if you’re visiting Cartagena. The community of Palenque is beautiful and the residents are friendly and welcoming. We stopped at several places and learned a lot of about their history. The food was amazing as well. 10/10, I’ll do it again.
The experience was great. Romeo was a great guide. Entertaining and hospitable. The lunch was delicious. The only hump to get over was the heat. I was sweating like crazy. Nevertheless, it was worth it.

This experience was amazing. As a Jamaican- American, I saw and learned many parallels to my culture. Everything shown to us embodied the heart and spirit of the people from the 1st free black town in the Americas.
What an amazing day learning about this amazing place and it's history. I would tell anyone that if time is short do this trip. It's also an opportunity to have your picture taken with the Palenquera women without the stress of haggling in the walled city. The lunch was amazing too. Thanks to Romero for a great day.
The experience was amazing. Romeo was a thorough and thoughtful guide. Everyone made us feel welcome and we learned so much about the beautiful history of Palenque. The tour was a mix of upbeat, fun moments like dancing class and photos with adequate time spent on the deep roots and history of the city. We saw lots of beautiful murals including the most popular, I Love Being Black, mural. The only caveat I would keep in mind is if you are staying outside of the walled city, there is no hotel pick up regardless of what your reservation might say.
The experience was fun! Great translations and food. I felt close to the culture. The hosts are very funny too. Definitely would do this again.
