My wife and I very much enjoyed the tour. All the logistics were well-handled: Cristina met us at the designated location (at the Mosque-Cathedral) and got us all in the taxi she pre-arranged for the trip to the site. Her commentary at the site was both interesting and entertaining. The pre-arranged taxi was waiting for us at the site at the end and took us all back directly to the area where our apartment was.
Wonderful tour with very friendly and knowledgeable guide. Recommend an early start to avoid big crowds.
A must see when in Cordoba! We were so lucky with the weather and the most knowledgeable guide (who speaks spanish, french, italian, english and ancient greek?!!). It takes a lot of imagination to reconstruct the ruins but with our guides help it came back alive!
My wife and I did a private tour with Alberto. We are both interested in ancient history and the story behind Medina-Azahara is truly fascinating. Though pricy, I don't think we would have enjoyed the site nearly as much without Alberto and the insight he brought. And, by going private we arrived well before the larger tour groups swarmed in at mid-morning.
The visit to the Medina with Javier was fascinating insight into the life of the Caliph, his advisors, soldiers and servants. Our guide put this period of Andalusia history in context and was extremely informative and entertaining.
This tour was amazing! We were lucky enough to have Javier as our tour guide (the most amazing guide you could ever want!). We also had Javier for our Mezquita tour a couple of days earlier, and he is the best! Medina Azahara is such an important site in the history of the caliphate, and Javier truly brought this place to life for us. He walked us through the museums first to understand the various social class distinctions present in the artifacts themselves. Then, we toured the site, seeing and understanding its terraced neighborhoods as also being class distinctions. We entered the remains of rooms, stables, houses, and areas that all had specific purposes - all to show the grandeur and power that the caliphate had, to impress diplomats and strike awe and wonder to all who ventured there. If you truly want to understand the Golden Age of Muslim rule in Andalucia, you must go to this site, the heart of their power.

The visit to Medina Azahara was a wonderful experience. The reason: the wonderful guide (Sandra), who is a lovely person, placed us from the beginning, with super clear and funny explanations in the peak time of that wonderful and at the same time, enigmatic Medina. A full hit with a real connoisseur of the time. I recommend it 100 percent.

This was an amazing tour for us. Our guide, Javier, possesses a deep knowledge of the history and culture of the site. He customized the tour to fit the needs of a couple with limited knowledge of the topic. I felt like I was back in school attending a class with my favorite teacher. He would be a wonderful guide for anyone regardless of their knowledge of the history of the area.
