La primera catedral cristiana de Echmiadzin fue fundada en el siglo IV a. C., cuyo nombre significa "lugar del descenso del Unigénito". Una característica de la catedral es que, además del altar principal en la parte oriental, hay otro altar en el medio, en el sitio del descenso de Cristo. En el límite derecho de la Catedral de Etchmiadzin se encuentra el Museo del Tesoro, donde se guardan reliquias, vestimentas de iglesia, bordadas con oro y perlas, bastones y cruces católicos, numerosos objetos rituales de oro, plata y marfil. En el territorio del complejo del monasterio también se encuentra la residencia del patriarca armenio, los católicos de todos los armenios. También aquí verá muchas piedras cruzadas, de las cuales "Amenaprakich" (1279), y la piedra cruzada dedicada a las víctimas del genocidio de 1915.
El Templo de San Hripsime fue fundado en el siglo VII por Catholicos Komitas I Aghtsetsi en el lugar de un sepulcro de San Hripsime. Desde 2000, el Templo de Saint Hripsime ha sido incluido en la Lista del Patrimonio Mundial de la UNESCO. Dos prominentes católicos católicos están enterrados en el patio del templo de Saint Hripsime. Son Catholicos Astvatsatur (1715-1725) y Catholicos Garaped II Oolnetzi (1725-1729).
El Templo de San Gayane fue construido en honor de San Gayane en el siglo VII en el lugar de la capilla del siglo IV, que es uno de los mejores monumentos de la arquitectura armenia. Las reliquias de Saint Gayane se guardan en la pared sur del templo, al lado del nicho del altar. Sobre la entrada occidental, se conservaron los murales del siglo XVII sobre el tema del nacimiento de Cristo. Cerca del Templo de Saint Gayane hay una sala especial donde los animales son sacrificados y apuñalados desde la época de San Gregorio el Iluminador. Este rito se llama matah, que se realiza habitualmente para cualquier ocasión: bodas, nacimiento de un hijo, etc.
El magnífico Templo Zvartnots, que significa "Templo de las Fuerzas de Vigilia", fue construido en el siglo VII. El templo fue construido por 20 años. Desafortunadamente, Zvartnots fue destruido por un poderoso terremoto en el siglo XX y solo quedaron sus ruinas. Pero incluso las ruinas de este templo nos dan una idea de su rara y majestuosa belleza. Hoy, el Templo Zvartnots es una reserva arqueológica y museo fundado en 1937, donde se pueden ver versiones modelo de la reconstrucción del templo, numerosos fragmentos escultóricos, impresionantes en tamaño. Las ruinas del Templo Zvartnots están incluidas en la UNESCO como Patrimonio de la Humanidad.
