Visite Alley of Letters que fue construido en honor al 1600 aniversario de la creación del alfabeto armenio. Este monumento es único no solo en Armenia, sino en todo el mundo. El siguiente paso es el lago Kari a una altura de 3250 m en las laderas del monte Aragats, el punto más alto de Armenia (4095 m). El pico más alto de la República de Armenia es el Monte Aragats (4090 m). Este gigante de cuatro picos es la montaña más favorita de los escaladores. En el camino hacia el pico sur la mejor parada es en el lago Kari (traducido como lago de piedra), que está a la altura de 3250 m. En la parte superior se abre la escena más atractiva : la silueta de valles verdes de un lado, la nieve eterna y los lagos de plata de otros lados y el Monte Ararat bíblico lejos en la niebla del Valle de Ararat.
El monumento al alfabeto armenio se encuentra en el pueblo de Artashavan, en el fondo del lado este del Monte Aragats. Fue erigido en 2005 al 1600 aniversario de la creación del alfabeto armenio por el diseño del famoso arquitecto armenio Jim Torosyan. El monumento es una interesante demostración de las tallas en piedra de 39 letras armenias. El alfabeto armenio se ha utilizado para escribir el idioma armenio desde el año 405 o 406 y todavía se utiliza para presentar el idioma armenio en forma escrita. Fue ideado por San Mesrop Mashtots, un lingüista y líder eclesiástico armenio, con el fin de hacer la Biblia accesible a los armenios y difundir el cristianismo. Originalmente contenía 36 cartas y se había completado en la Edad Media.
Las principales características arquitectónicas de la construcción de fortalezas medievales han encontrado su reflejo en esta fortaleza. Habiendo sido construido sobre un cabo naturalmente bien defendido, Amberd ha servido durante mucho tiempo como un importante fuerte militar. Junto a este edificio secular hay una iglesia, construida en 1026 por el duque Vahram Pahlavuni.

This was an amazing tour. Mike and Karen were great to hangout and very very knowledgeable of Armenian culture from it's inception to present day. We learned about tons of fascinating topics from literature, to religion and within context and in a very fluid and well crafted manner. Highly recommend taking the lunch option at Chir's house. Armenians will never let you starve don't worry about it. The food was all freshly cooked with vegetables from the garden at Chir's house where they also make their own honey and dried fruit. This was our first tour in Armenia and first time and this was perfect for us. Great if you don't want to walk much but see beautiful places. Nothing too hard to reach or with challenging hikes even though most of the tour is in mountains so I'd say this is a level for seniors as well. Highly recommend Karlen and Mike, I want to book them again for the next day but they were taken. Keep up the good work Karlen and Mike :D

The Alphabet park and fortress were nice. What made the day was the guide, Alisa. She was very informative and engaging on topics beyonf the ones we saw. The lake was a total waste of time. Take a sweater. It was chilly up there. I think it was very overpriced for what we got.
