The communication was a little rough, but they more than made up for it as we basically had a full- time chauffeur for the day. You have to walk out of the cruise port area up a big hill to find the TA and other vendors. I saw my name in a sigh and off we went. Long drive to West End beach which was pretty much undeveloped. A few shops and a few places to eat. So we shopped for about 30min b4 we got on the submarino. Bottom 1/2 under water top 1/2 above . Out to the reefs where we saw schools of different fish and divers waaay below us. After we played on the beach a bit and another long drive back to port. One lane roads all the way. Overall I would rate this a high 4 stars, but after a little rocky start it was fine.
Thank you so Much.
Perfect Adventure for ALL Ages! My daughter and I are enjoying Roatan with my 80 yr.old mother, who all though is quite active, does have some limitations. During our tour we saw some people treading water. Their kayak had overturned. The crew stopped and helped them aboard! The Glass Bottom Boat was such a great experience for all 3 of us, even my Scuba Diving daughter enjoyed the views she had seen from a different perspective! You are literally about 10’ above the reefs, but with the magnifying windows you feel so much closer. The crew was welcoming and knowledgeable and we were able to see lots of ocean life! If you visit Roatan you should do this tour! Perfect Adventure for ALL Ages!
If your kids are old enough to snorkel or you can go diving do that and skip the boat. It was ok, visibility wasn’t great from the boat and we didn’t really see that many fish or interesting sea creatures. The boat itself is pretty stuffy and not very comfortable and the entire tour was in Spanish, but even if it was in English we probably wouldn’t have heard much from where we were sitting. For the price I would choose a different overpriced island activity.
We had low expectations of this tour because the name is a bit misleading. It could be understood that the bottom of the boat is a glass and you float above the water line. In fact, you are sitting below the water line and are surrounded with glass windows. Got a very good view of the refs and marine life. Saw turtles, stingrays and many fish. Highly recommended. Better than diving.
