Our excursion in Roatan with Phoebe was absolutely outstanding and ended up being our favorite port of our entire cruise. What truly set Phoebe apart was the care and compassion she showed toward my father-in-law, who has both mobility and memory issues. She was patient, understanding, and accommodating throughout the entire excursion, making sure he was comfortable and included every step of the way. That level of kindness meant so much to our family. The only suggestion we would offer is that the meeting instructions could be a little more specific. A more defined meeting location and time window would be helpful, especially for cruise passengers. Since I did not have Wi-Fi on all of my devices, I wasn't able to message Phoebe back when she checked to make sure we were still coming. Because the instructions gave a fairly wide arrival window, I felt terrible thinking she might be waiting on us. However, we were incredibly relieved and grateful that she continued waiting and was there to greet us. Our first stop was the monkey, sloth, and bird sanctuary, where JD was our guide. He was hilarious, incredibly informative, and made sure every member of our group had the opportunity to interact with all of the animals. It was one of the highlights of our day. Next, we visited the chocolate tasting and souvenir shop. Phoebe gave us great advice about local products and helped us make the most of our time there. We then stopped for rum cake and rum tastings, where she took a beautiful family photo for us with the ocean in the background that we will treasure. Our final stop was West Bay Beach, where Phoebe generously gave us a little extra time to enjoy the area. We were able to purchase a light lunch and drinks, relax, and enjoy one of the most beautiful, clean, and safe beaches we visited during our cruise. Throughout the entire day, we felt completely safe and well cared for. Phoebe's knowledge of the island, her friendly personality, and her genuine care for her guests made the experience truly special. If you are considering a tour in Roatan, we cannot recommend Phoebe highly enough. She went above and beyond to make our day memorable, and we would gladly book with her again on our next visit. Thank you, Phoebe, for helping create such wonderful memories for our family.
The experience with the monkeys and the sloths was SOOO much fun. Our guide was wonderful with the animals. I was not a fan of the chocolate and rum tasting, but that is just personal preferences. I left the tasting and went outside and some ladies asked me if I wanted a massage. I told them no. One of the ladies proceeded to massage my neck while I was standing there. I thought she was just trying to convince me to get a massage. She kept on and put some greasy stuff on me and kept massaging. I finally realized she was expecting money. I asked her what it was going to cost me, and she said $60. What???? I told her I did not want the massage. Be careful-they do not give up. They also did the same thing to my brother in law and sister. If I am going to pay $60 for a massage, it is going to be my choice and not in the middle of the sidewalk standing up. Our last stop was the Paradise Beach. The beach was good, but we got cheated big time on our food. On the menu it was $10 for a margarita, $17 dollars for a bucket of beer, and $25 for a large pizza. We asked for water. They brought us our food, drinks, and 4 water bottles. Our total for this was $113. According to my math it should have been 80 for the food and drinks, and I am not sure how much the water was. We were expecting a cup of water not to pay $18.50 for 4 bottles of water. They charged us three different gratuities. So another $23. We won't be eating there next time.
Jamal was an awesome tour guide; very helpful & knowledgeable! The stops were great; sloth/monkey sanctuary, chocolate & rum testing was fantastic!
I don’t understand how there are so many positive reviews for this. There was no guide. We were whisked into a van loaded with other tourists. There was a silent driver who didn’t talk to us. I had to ask the other tourists if they booked the same tour as us because there was NO indication on the van or on the driver that it was “Let’s See Roatan”. Most of the spots we were taken to were free…so this “excursion” is simply a taxi. The sloth/monkey stop was kinda cool…but the description made it sound like a sanctuary. There was one sloth we could touch, one macaw we got to hold and two monkeys in a cage that ran across our arms. That’s it. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ On the way back to the ship, we passed a Roatan sign and one of the people in the van said, “that’s the sign I was talking about!” The driver responded “oh, did you want to see that?”…to which the person said “yeah!” It’s the Roatan sign seen in a lot of the pics people posted in these reviews. The guy wasn’t even going to stop. It was one of the oddest tours and definitely didn’t live up to the expectations/description.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We sincerely apologize that your experience did not meet your expectations. The day of your tour was one of our busiest days of the season, with multiple cruise ships in port. Because of the unusually high demand, we had to expand our transportation team, and unfortunately, the level of communication you received did not reflect the standard of service we strive to provide. We take full responsibility for that. Our island tour includes transportation to several of Roatan’s most popular attractions, including the animal park where guests can see sloths, monkeys, and macaws. We understand that the experience may have been different from what you expected, and we appreciate your comments as they help us improve how we describe the tour. Regarding the Roatan sign, we apologize that it was not offered as a photo stop. We have already reminded our team to be more proactive in offering this stop whenever time allows. Most importantly, we have already taken the necessary steps to ensure this situation does not happen again. We have reinforced our procedures so that every guest is properly welcomed, informed throughout the tour, and receives the level of service that Let’s See Roatan is known for. We truly value your feedback because it helps us improve. We hope you can see from the many experiences shared by other travelers that this was not representative of the service we normally provide. Thank you again for your comments, and we wish you all the best.
We highly recommend this tour! Our guide was Jiml and not only did he know the island like the back of his hand, he knew and was well loved by practically everyone on the island. His car was comfortable with A/C and he even provided mangos as a complimentary snack in the car (they were so deliciously sweet!). As we traversed to each destination, he pointed out notable homes, areas, beaches on the island to give us more history and knowledge. He was adamant about making sure we got the most bang for our buck and we genuinely appreciated that. We booked a few tours on our cruise trip at different ports and this was hands down, our favorite tour.
Excellent excursion. Great driver and guide. Never felt rushed and felt very safe.
Alani was the best of the best! She and her partner made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived, and most importantly, they made sure we had a great time. Alani was extremely knowledgeable about the island, fun, and incredibly friendly. She showed us the beauty of the island and made our tour both enjoyable and memorable. We truly appreciated her positive attitude and excellent guidance. Highly recommend Alani and her team for an amazing experience! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We LOVED this experience. We had Cesia as our guide and she was wonderful. She was very friendly and told us so much about the island. She answered any questions we had. We started out at the animal sanctuary. Getting to pet and interreact with the sloths and moneys was amazing. Next stop was the chocolate factory, YUM! Then we went to the rum factory and got to try some flavored rum and rum cakes, which of course we had to buy a couple to take home because they were so good. We also stopped by the colorful ROATAN sign for pictures. After that Cesia took us to a local place where we could order lunch and even helped us order! It was delicious! We would recommend this experience to anyone!
Andre was a great guide for our private tour. He brought us to each place and adjusted as we requested. I’d recommend him Any time!!
Our guide Alani was awesome! She made sure we would get back the the cruise ship on time. She was very knowledgeable, fun and friendly. She knew all the perfect places to show us.
